Prince William is reportedly “sickened” by his estranged brother Prince Harry and sister-in-law Meghan Markle’s plans to allegedly profit off the death of his late mother Princess Diana.
William ‘Sickened’ By Meghan And Harry
Insiders are claiming that William, 43, and Harry, 41, are butting heads over Diana’s legacy. She was sadly killed in a car crash back in 1997 at the age of 36.
“Harry is determined to honor his mother and share her story with the next generation,” an insider alleged. This source went on to say that Harry doesn’t see it as necessary to involve his older brother. “Harry’s got his deal at Netflix, so when he’s ready to pitch this project, he’ll go straight there, which is bound to set William off even more, since he’s still angry they aired The Crown.”
It’s particularly disturbing to William that Meghan, 44, is heavily involved in this endeavor.
“William doesn’t want her anywhere near his mother’s story, but of course that doesn’t matter one bit to Harry,” the insider explained. “He is absolutely sickened that Harry, and by extension Meghan, will be profiting off Diana. To him, it’s nothing more than a shameless money grab and he’s vowing to do whatever it takes to stop them.”
“Harry’s not asking anyone’s permission anymore, especially not William’s,” the source added. “In his eyes, the monarchy failed Diana so they ought to be the last ones in charge of honoring her.”
Harry Talks Diana
Harry referenced Diana’s infamous 1995 Panorama interview, in which Diana revealed the royal family deemed her “unstable” and a “problem,” during his 2022 Netflix docuseries.
“I think we all now know she was deceived into giving the interview, but at the same time, she spoke the truth of her experience,” Harry said at the time.
“Harry genuinely believes Diana’s story has been mismanaged for years,” the insider concluded. “And that it’s his responsibility to make sure it’s finally shared properly.”
It’s been six years since Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals. They then moved across the world to Southern California, where Meghan was born and raised.
In the year since then, Meghan and Harry have repeatedly bashed the royal family. Last year, Harry tried to reconcile with his father King Charles when he visited England. However, it is believed that William and Harry remain bitterly estranged.
Meghan And Harry’s Netflix Downgrade
This comes four months after Netflix downgraded Meghan and Harry from their $100 million contract. Instead, Netflix gave them a far more modest “first look” deal moving forward.
Meghan and Harry had signed their $100 million Netflix contract back in 2020 after they stepped down as senior royals. That deal is set to expire next month.
On August 11, Netflix announced that it will not be renewing Meghan and Harry’s $100 million contract. Instead, Netflix has given them a “multi-year, first look deal for film and television projects.” This “downgrade” is the same one that Netflix gave to Barack and Michelle Obama.
“In practice, it is a downgrade from the 2020 overall deal that birthed Harry & Meghan, Polo and With Love, Meghan, among other projects,” The Hollywood Reporter reported.
“The overall-to-first-look extension mirrors the move Netflix made recently with the Obamas — as well as others — for their Higher Ground banner,” the publication continued. “In both cases, the exclusivity carried by their respective, splashy original deals has been removed.”
Meghan and Harry are seemingly more desperate than ever for a hit for Netflix. That’s why they’re seemingly resorting to using Harry’s late mother Diana to achieve the entertainment success that they crave. Only time will tell if William will be able to stop them!
