The country music star Parker McCollum had an embarrassing moment on Friday night when he fell off some stairs while performing in New Mexico. It may sound bad, until you see his epic recovery!

McCollum’s Fall

On Friday, McCollum, 32, was performing his first concert since becoming a father for the first time. During the show, he fell off stairs as he sang with his guitar in his hands. Unfazed, McCollum did a side somersault and managed to stick the landing.

McCollum looked shocked as he got up and made his way back across the stage.

‘I Got No Shame’

Fellow country music star Corey Kent, who was McCollum’s special guest at this concert, walked over to the stairs later in the show to jokingly make sure they were stable.

“I got to check this for you,” Kent said, poking fun at his good buddy.

“Come on, dog,” McCollum pleaded in response.

Kent assured the crowd that the stairs were “good.” McCollum then asked him if he’d ever “ever busted […] on stage” before.

“One time in Florida,” Kent replied. “I got up.”

Kent then praised McCollum for looking like “an athlete” when he fell.

“That […]’s already on TikTok,” McCollum said. “Come on with it baby! I got no shame! I don’t give a damn.”

Social media users praised McCollum for how he handled this difficult situation.

“Saving the guitar is like not spilling your beer,” one person commented. Another added, “He needs credit he did it with a whole guitar in his hand.”

“Wish I fell that gracefully quick tuck and roll. I just ugly fall,” a third person commented. A fourth wrote, “I don’t know that it gets any more graceful than that lol.”

McCollum is currently on his “Burn It Down” tour. He is next scheduled to perform in Corpus Christi, Texas on Saturday.

McCollum’s Wife And Baby

McCollum and his wife Hailey Ray Light welcomed their first child, a son they named Major, on August 8. Before the baby’s birth, McCollum revealed why they picked this name.

“It’s dope,” McCollum said of the name last month. “I was watching Rose Bowl highlights and I saw [former Texas Longhorns QB] Major Applewhite, and I was like ‘Damn. Major McCollum would be sick.’”

McCollum went on to say that his wife picked Major’s middle name, which is Yancey.

“That’s what she wants,” he explained. “She likes Major Yancey.”

McCollum and Light met through a mutual friend and married in 2022. On their second wedding anniversary back in March, McCollum described her as his “best friend till the end.”

Light took to social media to celebrate Major’s birth as well.

“Major is healthy! Mama is healthy!” she wrote. “Dad is the best dad to ever exist — and God is so good.”

This is clearly a very exciting time in McCollum’s life. We’re glad that he was able to recover from his fall in such an epic and quick way!
