Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr. are branching their partnership beyond the Marvel Universe. The pair has decided to collaborate on a pair of new drinks from their respective non-alcoholic beer and coffee brands.

Learn more about the exclusive items below and what made the pair collaborate off-camera.

On-Screen Collabs

If you’re a Marvel fan, you’re likely familiar with Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr. as Spider-Man and Iron Man.

Appearing together in films such as Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, they have long had a powerful chemistry.

It should be interesting, though, if they appear in future Marvel films, as the pair will likely be enemies as Downey Jr. prepares to don the Doctor Doom mantle in 2026.

BERO and happy Coffee Collab

While Downey may credit Holland with the idea, the collaboration seamlessly blends coffee and beer flavors into one.

The two limited edition drinks are happy Eternal Hoptimist ground coffee and BERO Coffee Draught. The ground coffee provides ale-like pine and citrus notes when roasted, while the draught provides a coffee-flavored stout with less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.

When interviewed by USA Today about the collaboration, Holland stated, “It’s just incredibly rewarding, beyond partnering up with a pal who I respect and admire and also am incredibly grateful to for the way the last 10 years of my career has panned out … that we got to do yet another really cool thing together.”

Downey responded similarly, saying, “You know, this is so weird. This just occurred to me. If you hadn’t seen 10 years of someone operating like a clean machine to inspire you, we might not even be on the Zoom today. Matter of fact, I should be an equity partner in BERO, but we’ll sidebar about that.”

It seems as if the pair’s connection only continues to grow stronger.

Where Can You Buy the New Items?

You can buy both exclusive items at Target stores and Target.com. Or, if you want to go straight to the source, head to the happyCoffee or BERO websites and try the new collaboration there.

It’s perfect timing for the collaboration, with a growing non-alcoholic movement and a consistent need for coffee/energy drinks.

The Inspiration for a Collab

Holland originally came up with the idea for a collaboration. With his BERO launch happening a year prior, Holland and his team were discussing new flavors and styles to bring to consumers. Before his sobriety, which began in 2022, one of Holland’s favorite alcoholic beverages was a pint of Guinness.

After his meeting with the BERO team, Holland poured a BERO and “put a shot of Robert’s coffee in there and it just was out of this world, delicious,” Holland explained. “I think the coffee just brings that really nice nutty aroma.”

Now, that delicious flavor blend is in two new exclusive drinks.

Philanthropic Roots

These two brands mean more than just sales. Each company has a philanthropic background for each leading man, surrounding their respective journeys to sobriety.

For Downey Jr., mental health was the leading cause and his journey to sobriety in the early 2000s. According to Downey Jr., the National Alliance on Mental Illness is an equity partner in happy Coffee. Plus, the products, from whole bean coffee to canned drinks, feature a QR code that connects buyers to the NAMI HelpLine.

For Holland, some of the proceeds from BERO go to The Brothers Trust, a fundraising platform created by his family in 2017. One of the many projects funded by The Brothers Trust is Story Book Dads, who make CD and DVD recordings of incarcerated fathers reading bedtime stories, which and then given to the children.

When asked about the importance, Holland commented, “It helps them maintain a relationship with their kids on the outside.”

The Power of Star Power

There’s nothing more potent than star power, and this collaboration is sure to do well because of it.

Between Holland and Downey Jr.’s separate star power, their friendship makes this a sweeter deal. Plus, it’s likely to pull fans from both mainstream media and the Marvel world to try out the drinks.

Time will reveal how good these drinks really are.
