The world is still in shock over the assassination of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk. He was tragically shot dead on Wednesday while speaking at Utah Valley University. Kirk was only 31 years-old. At the time of this writing, his killer is still on the loose, with a manhunt currently underway.
Now, the former Home Improvement star Tim Allen is speaking out to pay tribute to Kirk. He did so in a brief yet powerful post marking the 24th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
Allen Pays Tribute To Kirk
Allen, who has long been known as one of the only openly conservative stars in Hollywood, took to social media on Thursday morning to mark 24 years since the September 11th terrorist attacks that took place in 2001. He made a point of including a tribute to Kirk and his loved ones in his post.
“On this sad and day remembering 9-11. I add a somber prayer for Charlie Kirk’s family,” wrote Allen, 72. “This is a very dark moment.”
Social media users were quick to praise Allen for his post .
“Thank you Tim for being an American icon with a heart and light during this dark time,” one social media user commented. Another added, “Thank you for being a good human, Tim.”
“Dark days for America,” a third user wrote. A fourth stated, “God Bless America. And thank you Tim Allen for your dedication to our country and hilarious acting as well! All your sitcoms help bring joy when we are sad.”
More Celebrities Honor Kirk
While much of the liberal world of Hollywood have remained disturbingly silence in the wake of Kirk’s death, Allen isn’t the only celebrity who has spoken out to pay tribute to this incredible young patriot.
The former Full House star Candace Cameron Bure, 49, took to Instagram to share a photo of Kirk. She included the caption, “We love you Charlie. Well done good and faithful servant.”
Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt, 46, took to social media immediately after Kirk was shot to call for prayers for the young man. At the time, it still appeared as if there was a chance that he could pull through.
“Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country,” Pratt wrote. “We need God’s grace. God help us.”
This was a reference to Kirk’s wife Erika, whom he married in 2021. They share a 3 year-old daughter and a 16 month-old son.
Liberal Star Defies Hollywood To Pay Tribute To Kirk
Even the former This Is Us star Mandy Moore, who has long been known for her staunch liberal views, spoke out after Kirk’s murder to honor him.
“There is no room for political violence in the discourse. Ever,” Moore, 41, wrote on Instagram. “You can disagree with someone’s beliefs but this is a terrifying consequence of the world we’re living in and it’s a cancer.”
“I can’t stop thinking about Charlie’s wife and their small kids,” she added. “My heart is with them and all who loved him.”
What happened to Kirk is nothing short of horrifying. His assassination should be condemned by all, regardless of their political leanings. We applaud Allen and these other celebrities for using their platforms to pay tribute to Kirk.
Please join us in saying a prayer for Kirk’s wife and children in the wake of this unspeakable tragedy.
Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk.
