It’s been three months since we reported that the Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban had finalized their divorce. This came after 19 years of marriage and two daughters together.
Now, Kidman is being given a major dating warning by her fellow Oscar-winning Hollywood star Russell Crowe.
Crowe’s Advice For Kidman
The former Gladiator star Crowe split from his wife Danielle Spencer back in 2012. They later finalized their divorce in 2018. They were married for nine years and welcomed two sons together before they split.
This experience has led Crowe, 62, to become something of an expert when it comes to navigating dating post-divorce. That’s why he has some advice for Kidman, 58, as she enters this new chapter of her life as a single woman.
“He (Crowe) spent years of his life as a single parent without a partner. And he says he experienced a lot of growth during those times,” an insider told Globe Magazine. “That’s why he’s warning Nicole not to dive headfirst into a new relationship to fill the void left by Keith’s absence.”
“Russell’s secret to happiness and to dealing with the demons has been to focus on his children above everything else,” the source continued. “You have to hand it to Russell, because this is all coming from a place of genuine love and respect for Nicole.”
Will Kidman Take Crowe’s Advice?
The insider went on to say that it’s unclear if Kidman will actually take Crowe’s advice to heart.
“It’s going to be interesting to see if Nicole takes Russell’s advice to heart,” the source admitted. “She has been one of the most prolific producer-actresses on Earth for a while now and her constantly working could not have been healthy for her marriage.”
“Russell stays sane because he [now] has a much more relaxed schedule than Nicole has ever had,” the insider concluded “She refuses to slow down, and Russell thinks that might just be the key to her finding lasting happiness.”
Crowe and Kidman have been close friends ever since they starred together in the Australian teenage movie hit, Flirting, back in 1991. After so many years of friendship, it wouldn’t be surprising if Kidman took Crowe’s dating advice seriously.
Kidman And Urban’s Split
Kidman and Urban secretly separated in June of last year, unbeknownst to their fans. Urban was the one who initiated the split. He then immediately moved out of the family home and into his own residence in Nashville.
Kidman then spent the summer desperately trying to save their marriage. The actress finally gave in and filed for divorce on September 30.
“She didn’t want this,” a source told People Magazine after Kidman filed. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
Another insider told US Weekly that Kidman “had faith they could work it out.” Indeed, she still had hope despite being “quietly separated for a while.
“This wasn’t Nicole’s decision, and she is devastated,” the source lamented. “Her trust was lost, and it was too far gone. Nicole had been trying to get them to work on their marriage and did not want this to get out to the public. She didn’t tell many friends what was really going on with them and was holding this in for months.”
Yet another insider told Page Six that “sometimes relationships just run their course.” This source added that Kidman “did not want the separation and was trying to save things.”
This has clearly been a very difficult situation for everyone involved. In the end, Kidman might do well to heed Crowe’s advice and take things slow when it comes to entering the dating scene again.
Please join us in saying a prayer for both Kidman and Urban as they navigate this challenging new time in their respective lives!
