Earlier this week, we reported that Prince Andrew’s alleged past “rude” behavior towards Kate Middleton had come back to haunt him, as Prince William was plotting his revenge on his uncle.
Now, things have gotten even worse for Andrew. Indeed, it’s being alleged that William is planning to break royal tradition to deal with him when he takes the throne.
William’s Plans For Andrew
William, 44, is allegedly planning to stop at nothing to ensure that Andrew, 65, faces full accountability for the many problems that he’s caused the royal family over the years.
“The public deserves to know their monarchy is free from scandal,” William has reportedly told those close to him.
William has had a strained relationship with his Uncle Andrew for many years. His father King Charles, 76, has taken the late Queen Elizabeth’s approach of keeping all family matters private. However, sources tell Radar Online that William is already planning to break with royal tradition to deal with Andrew when he takes the throne.
“William is far more hard-nosed than Charles when it comes to protecting the monarchy’s reputation,” explained one former courtier.
“He’s fully aware of the harm Andrew has caused to the monarchy’s reputation and won’t shy away from actions his grandmother or father may have steered clear of,” this insider added. “Andrew’s Dukedom could be up for discussion when William takes the throne.”
Though they are rare, such moves are indeed possible.
Parliament can use legislation to strip peerages. A ruling monarch can also revoke the HRH style via Letters Patent. A fresh Royal Warrant can even be used to rescind the title of Prince. However, insiders have said that a move like that last one would probably require political backing so as to avoid accusations of personal vendetta.
William’s ‘Rude’ Behavior Towards Kate
Not helping Andrew’s case with William is his alleged past “rude” behavior to his nephew’s wife Kate, 44. This was claimed in the new unauthorized royal biography “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York.” The bo0k, which hit stores last week, was written by the British author Andrew Lownie. He reportedly spoke to hundreds of sources as he wrote it.
Lownie believes that jealousy over Kate’s popularity with the public might be the reason behind Andrew’s alleged mistreatment of her.
“It surprised me,” Lownie said of this. “Kate has been the family’s saving grace – yet people can get jealous.”
Palace sources say that William’s devotion to Kate has led him to develop a “secret hate” for Andrew.
Andrew was previously seen as Queen Elizabeth’s favorite of her four children. However, he fell into disgrace when his past ties to the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein were exposed. Since then, Andrew has been hit with allegations that he’s brought royal staffers to tears with his private outbursts. He’s also been accused of engaging in various shady business dealings.
Andrew’s Fall From Grace
Andrew stepped down as a working royal in 2019. This came after a disastrous Newsnight interview in which he tried to explain his friendship with Epstein.
Unfortunately for Andrew, however, this interview backfired, as it only made him look more suspicious. In the years since then, Andrew has been trying to lay low. Despite this, Andrew continues to reside at Royal Lodge in Windsor with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, 65, under a long-term lease from the Crown Estate. William reportedly wants to evict him from this royal estate once and for all.
“If Charles doesn’t act before he dies, the first thing William will do as King is get them out of there,” said one source close to William.
King Charles is currently 76 years-old, and he’s been battling an unspecified form of cancer for over a year. While we certainly hope he lives for many years to come, Andrew shouldn’t be surprised if William ends up being King sooner rather than later.
In the end, Andrew might want to start packing his bags now, because it looks like his days are numbered at Royal Lodge once William becomes King. Only time will tell how this all goes for Andrew in the years to come!
