It’s been nearly two years since Pat Sajak retired from Wheel of Fortune after hosting the iconic game show for 43 years. Since then, millions of fans have missed him being on their screen every night.
Pat, 79, has mostly been laying low since retiring from his television duties. That’s why it came as such a welcome surprise when he gave fans a glimpse of his retirement life in a new video posted to TikTok by his daughter Maggie Sajak, 31.
Pat Reemerges In Retirement
In the video, Maggie can be seen jokingly trying to bargain her way out paying for dinner during a night out with her dad. In the funny video, Maggie offering her dad “two lipliners and a piece of gum” in exchange for him paying.
“It’s ok, it’s on the house,” Pat says with a smile in response.
Fans were quick to gush over the video in the comments section.
“Yes. Even the vowels are on the house. Hi Pat! I like these father and daughter skits you both do,” one TikTok user wrote. Another added, “I love how much you spend with your parents, especially your father. It’s hard to find these days.”
“Wow, Pat looks good for almost 80,” a third person commented. A fourth fan wrote, “I miss Pat! This man was such a large part of my family bonding time. Order dessert on me!!!!”

Pat’s Previous TikTok Video
This is far from the first time that Pat has appeared in one of his daughter’s TikTok videos. On February 28, Maggie posted a clip of Pat in what appears to be his home. The video features the former game show host giving an impeccable lip sync performance of Tame Impala’s “Dracula.”
Pat lip syncs along to his part of the song as he walks down a hallway. The camera then pans over to Maggie before the father and daughter pose together beside a pool table.
“got him again. thank goodness he likes @Tame Impala,” Maggie wrote in the caption.
Fans loved that video as well, with one writing, “omg !! pat looks amazing. I miss you man, for 35 years I watched you every night pretty much. thank you for all the years of joy.”

Pat Retires From Wheel
Pat announced in June of 2023 that he would retire from hosting Wheel of Fortune after the following season. His final episode of Wheel of Fortune aired on June 7, 2024. He had been hosting the legendary game show ever since 1981.
“It’s been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade,” Sajak said in his farewell message.
“And I’ve always felt that the privilege came with a responsibility to keep this daily half-hour a safe place for family fun. No social issues, no politics, nothing embarrassing, I hope. Just a game,” he concluded. “What an honor to have played even a small part in all that. Thank you for allowing me into your lives.”
Since Pat’s departure, Ryan Seacrest has taken over hosting Wheel of Fortune. Meanwhile, Vanna White, who had co-hosted Wheel of Fortune alongside Pat since 1982, has decided to stay on in her role, much to the joy of fans everywhere.
Pat is a true living legend, and there will never be another one like him. While we miss him dearly on our screens each night, we’re certainly glad that he seems to be getting the enjoyable retirement that he deserves.
God bless you, Pat Sajak!
