Melania Trump is over a year into her second term as First Lady. Now, her latest “concerns” for her beloved 20 year-old son Barron are being revealed to the world.
Melania’s Concerns For Barron
Tensions between the U.S. and Iran are escalating faster than ever. This has led to fears that President Donald Trump might reinstate the draft in an attempt to prepare American citizens for the potential of combat operations.
Should President Trump do this, it would be the first time since the 1970s that the draft would be in effect in this country. If the president were to reinstate the draft, Barron would potentially be eligible for it, given the fact that he is 20 years-old. The prospect of this is reportedly deeply worrying to his mother Melania, 55.
In her 2024 book Melania: A Memoir, Melania opened up about the deep fears that she has long had for Barron, who is her only child. Indeed, she’s worried about the media attention that Barron has received ever since her husband first ran for president over a decade ago.
“More than anything, I was concerned for my son, Barron,” Melania wrote in an excerpt obtained by the Irish Star. “He was just a young boy, barely 10 years old. I dreaded the prospect of media scrutiny toward him.”
“Our first year in politics only solidified my determination to shield my son from such unwanted attention,” she continued. “I anticipated that if Donald were to win, the media’s scrutiny, deceit, and mistreatment would only escalate.”
Barron Turns 20
Barron just celebrated his 20th birthday on Friday, March 20. He is currently a sophomore at New York University’s Stern School of Business. A source close to the Trump family recently told People Magazine that Barron has “inherited his father’s interest in making money and a name for himself.”
“He is smart, focused and resourceful,” the insider added. “He is always looking for areas that interest him and is quite ambitious for such a young age.”
Before President Trump took office for a second time last year, Melania told Fox News that while Barron would be living at Trump Tower while he attends NYU, he’ll always have a room set up for him at the White House if he wants it.
“I feel as children, we have them till they are 18, 19 years old. We teach them, we guide them, and then we give them the wings to fly,” Melania said. “I always respect Barron’s yes and no, and what he likes to do, where he would like to be.”
Melania Is ‘Very Protective’ Of Barron
Those close to Melania have long said that she is “very protective” of Barron.
“Melania’s main job is taking care of Barron,” a source said in March of 2024. “Barron is shy and reserved, and she has been a good mother to him all of these years.”
“Melania is all about Barron and her family,” that insider concluded. “She has always been family-oriented, and in addition to some of the charity work she has done, staying ahead of family issues is her priority.”
Given the scrutiny the Trump family has been under for so many years, growing up as Barron can’t have been easy. Luckily for him, he has had an incredible mother in Melania alongside him to protect him every step of the way.
