Over the weekend, we reported that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had been left devastated as Hollywood A-listers have been brutally snubbing them. This has led to the dreams of becoming Hollywood royalty essentially going up in smoke.
Now, things have gotten even worse for Meghan and Harry. Indeed, insiders are saying that Meghan has been left “hurt and humiliated” by her A-list former friend Victoria Beckham’s latest move.
Meghan Feels ‘Shaken’
Victoria’s new Netflix documentary Victoria Beckham, which premiered on October 9 and charts her journey from being a pop star to becoming a fashion powerhouse, has quickly become a massive hit. The documentary has cemented Victoria as one of the world’s most successful celebrity-turned-entrepreneurs.
Victoria’s success here has left Meghan feeling “shaken” after her own various Netflix series have flopped.
“Meghan’s shaken by this,” a Hollywood insider told Radar Online. “Victoria has achieved exactly what she aspired to – moving seamlessly from celebrity to credible business figure. Meghan’s been trying to establish herself as a cultural powerhouse, but Victoria’s documentary has completely overshadowed her. It stings, no question about it.”
There was a time when Meghan and Victoria were close friends. They were previously introduced by their respective husbands, Harry and the former soccer star David Beckham.
During her time as a working royal, Meghan often wore Victoria’s designs. The Beckhams even attended Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding.
Unfortunately for all of them, however, the friendship fell apart soon thereafter. It’s been alleged that Harry accused Victoria of leaking stories to the press, an accusation that she has firmly denied. Their friendship never recovered, and they are no longer close.
Meghan’s ‘Jealousy’ Of Victoria
Victoria’s Netflix success is particularly stinging for Meghan in the wake of the failure that was season two of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan. After it dropped in August, the show was critically panned and failed to catch on with viewers.
“Victoria’s documentary is being hailed as sophisticated, authentic, and beautifully produced,” said one entertainment executive. “Netflix views her as a true success story – a celebrity who’s evolved effortlessly into a respected designer and businesswoman. Meghan’s still trying to find her footing, and that contrast is what’s fueling her jealousy.”
“Victoria’s success embodies everything Meghan’s been striving for – real influence, substance, and respect beyond fame,” the entertainment executive continued. “Victoria’s built her empire slowly and strategically, while Meghan’s moves feel more impulsive. Seeing Victoria celebrated for exactly what she wanted to achieve has really struck a nerve.”
Victoria Isn’t Thinking About Meghan
As for Victoria, she reportedly isn’t phased at all by Meghan.
“Victoria’s not giving Meghan a second thought,” said a source close to the Beckhams. “She’s incredibly proud of what she’s built and isn’t interested in revisiting old tensions. The Beckhams have long moved past that friendship – this is Victoria’s time, and she’s not letting anyone take the spotlight away from her.”
“Victoria has Netflix completely captivated,” added another Hollywood insider. “She’s achieved what Meghan’s been aiming for – a real, grounded success story. Meghan’s still chasing that sense of authenticity, while Victoria doesn’t have to force it. She’s effortlessly relatable, and that’s what makes her stand out.”
In the end, Victoria’s success has struck a nerve with Meghan, hitting her right where it hurts.
“Meghan can see how naturally Victoria earns respect – she’s built a thriving brand, kept her marriage strong, and stayed out of controversy,” a friend of Meghan’s concluded. “That’s the kind of seamless reinvention Meghan always wanted. Now she’s having to watch Victoria pull it off instead.”
We can certainly see why Victoria has been a hit with Netflix while Meghan has failed miserably with the streaming service. Only time will tell if Meghan can ever truly bounce back from this!
