Human remains have been found near the Rhode Island mansion that belongs to the pop star Taylor Swift.
Human Remains Found Near Swift’s Home
Police in the town of Westerly have confirmed that human remains were found in the ritzy area of Watch Hill. Officers were called to the scene on Everett Avenue at around 9:30 a.m. on May 14. This came after someone uncovered “what appeared to be a human leg bone.” The remains have since been sent to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office for analysis.
“Investigators are awaiting official confirmation of the identity of the remains,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.
At the time of this writing, no foul play is suspected. Nevertheless, residents of the affluent area are still in shock that human remains would be found there.

Local Residents Terrified
Local resident Taylor Day told NBC10 WJAR that she saw “three police cars, one undercover . . . and there was a medical examiner pulling in behind me.”
“It kind of alarmed me, and it was just something very out of the ordinary for Westerly,” Day continued.
Though foul play is not suspected at this time, Day has her own personal suspicions.
“I would definitely disagree with that,” she said. “I think finding a leg is very suspicious.”
Day went on to reveal just how close the human remains were to Swift’s home.
“It was probably a couple football fields away from Taylor Swift’s house and the Ocean House,” she explained. “I would never expect anything like that—especially not in Watch Hill.”
Swift bought this mansion back in 2013 for $17.75 million. Indeed, she’s been known to host elaborate Fourth of July parties there. These parties have been attended by celebrities like Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, the Haim sisters, and Selena Gomez.

Locals Fear A Serial Killer Is On The Loose
Day later concluded by saying that the discovery of the human remains has left locals feeling uneasy.
“My mind immediately went to all the theories that are being thrown around,” Day said. “I’m more aware of my surroundings. I don’t go [to] places that are kind of dim or where I could be alone. Just trying to stay out in public and be vigilant.”
Meanwhile, fears have circulated online that there’s a serial killer on the loose in New England. Police have tried to shoot these rumors down, however.
“As far as I’m concerned, as far as right now, this has nothing to do with any serial killer [or] any New England murderer,” Westerly Police Chief Paul Gingerella told Fox News.
Gingerella then chalked up the serial killer fears to “the power of social media. Despite the rumors, he still thinks social media “has more benefits than negatives.”
Since the beginning of March, thirteen bodies have been found in the New England states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. No wonder residents of these states are starting to fear that a serial killer is amongst them!
Swift herself has yet to comment on the human remains that were discovered near her Rhode Island home. She also owns properties in New York, California, and Tennessee. That’s why it’s unlikely that Swift is even at her Rhode Island residence at this time.
It will certainly be interesting to see how this story develops as more information comes to light!
