Beyoncé was visibly stunned when she won the Grammy Award for Best Country Album for her record “Cowboy Carter” on Sunday night.
It was an affirmation of sorts, having been snubbed by the CMAs, but unfortunately the moment was marred by an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction as she prepared to accept the award.
Now, fans are speculating that Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z tried to warn her about the wardrobe malfunction as she prepared to take the stage.
Beyoncé’s Wardrobe Malfunction
As Beyoncé, 43, gave her acceptance speech, fans quickly noticed that the underwire of her stunning Schiaparelli gown was poking out. Indeed, it looked rather uncomfortable, to say the least.
“Who dressed her? Her bra wire’s popping out!” one social media user commented. Another added, “As someone who makes dresses I immediately saw that the dressmaker forgot to do the few top stitches after inserting wires.”
“I felt so bad for her!! We’ve all been there girl but not on the Grammys,” a third fan wrote.
Did Jay-Z Warn Her?
Just before Beyoncé took the stage, Jay-Z, 55, was seen whispering something in her ear. Beyoncé then immediately began trying to adjust her dress, to no avail. This led some fans to think that Jay-Z may have tried to warn her about the wardrobe mishap.
“Jay-Z telling his wife Beyoncé that the underwire of her bra was showing before she went on stage,” one fan commented. Another added, “That’s real love always looking out for each other.”
“Jay-Z always got her back! True partnership goals,” a third social media user commented. A fourth wrote, “Love that. He is looking out for her and wants her to look her best.”

Beyoncé Overcomes Wardrobe Malfunction
Thankfully, Beyoncé was able to overcome this mishap to accept her award for Best Country Album. She is the first black woman to ever win this award.
“I was not expecting this,” Beyoncé said in her acceptance speech. “I want to thank God that I’m able to still do what I love after so many years, oh, my God!”
“I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this, this album we worked so hard on,” she continued. “I think sometimes genre is a cold word to keep us in our place as artists, and just want to encourage people to do what they’re passionate about. And to stay persistent.”

Taylor Swift Presents Award
Beyoncé accepted this award from Taylor Swift, who pointed out that she won Best Country Album herself “almost exactly 15 years ago.”
“It’s an honor that has gone to great artists who I admire so much, like the Chicks, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, George Strait, Faith Hill, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss and Shania Twain,” Swift stated.
Later in the night, Beyoncé won Album of the Year for “Cowboy Carter”. It was the first time she ever won this award, and she even admitted that it took her “many, many years” to take it home.
While it’s unfortunate that Beyoncé suffered a wardrobe malfunction on her big night, we’re glad she didn’t let it hold her back too much. In the end, the wardrobe malfunction shows that Beyoncé is only human, just like the rest of us!
