Carrie Underwood is one of the most famous country music stars in the world. Despite this, she is determined to keep her two sons grounded as she raises them on a Tennessee farm.

In a new interview, Underwood is revealing her secrets when it comes to keeping her boys grounded despite her celebrity status.

Underwood’s Parenting Secrets

Underwood, 43, went on the ABC talk show The View on Wednesday morning. She was joined there by her fellow American Idol judges Luke Bryan, 49, and Lionel Richie, 76.

During this interview, Underwood revealed how she manages to keep her home life grounded at her Tennessee farm with her former professional hockey player husband Mike Fisher, 45, and their two sons, Isaiah, 11, and Jacob, 7.

“I don’t bring work home with me,” Underwood explained. “And it is the opposite of what I do everywhere else, like being on stage and being at home. These are two different people, pretty much, and I love that because it’s like they’ll come to shows, and they’ll see me do what I do, and I feel like they’re proud.”

“But mom makes dinner,” the season four American Idol winner continued. “I’m usually covered in dirt, or I have farm animals everywhere, or I’m covered in poop or whatever it is. That’s mom, and I hope, more than anything, that’s what they take away from me and that’s what they remember about me. Like she was mom and every once in a while she goes and gets on stage.”

Underwood went on to reveal if her sons have shown any interest in following in her footsteps.

“[Isaiah] is mini me in so many ways,” Underwood said of her oldest son. “He can sing. He loves Star Trek. But I don’t think I would [let him do a show like Idol], he would need to be older and more established in himself.”

Underwood’s Previous Comments

Underwood previously revealed back in 2023 during an appearance on The Dr. Josh Axe Show that her goal was to become a full farm-to-table family.

“I love that our meals, especially dinner, it’s like you look on our plate and everything on our plates is something that either came from the garden, or my husband’s a hunter, you know,” Underwood said at the time. “The meat is something that he got.”

“We eat what we have,” she added. “We eat seasonally. It all tastes delicious because it’s food.”

Underwood and her family live on a massive 400-acre, $15 million farm in rural Franklin, Tennessee.

“My husband, Mike [Fisher], and I are designing our ‘forever’ home,” Underwood told Country Living in 2016. “My must-haves are a wood-burning fireplace, a porch swing, and rocking chairs.”

Given how famous Underwood is, it says a lot about her character that she’s so determined to raise her children to be such down-to-earth young men. If only we had more celebrities out there like Underwood.

God bless you, Carrie Underwood!
