Candace Cameron Bure has long been known as one of the only openly devout Christians in Hollywood. On the latest episode of “The Candace Cameron Bure” podcast, the former Full House star is opening up to reveal her surprising parenting regret.

Cameron Bure shares three children with her former professional hockey player husband Valeri Bure: Natasha, 27, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23. After Full House ended in the 1990s, Cameron Bure left Hollywood for about a decade to focus on being a stay-at-home mom. On Tuesday’s episode of her podcast, Cameron Bure revealed the one thing she regrets from this time period.

Cameron Bure’s Parenting Regret

“That break from acting and staying home for my kids was a refining season for me,” Cameron Bure began. “And I grew to love it, but I can even look back in that season, and I wish I could have some do-overs in that — because even though my life was slower and was less hurried, my mind wasn’t always in it.”

“It wasn’t always present,” she continued. “I grew so much, but I really felt like I missed out on certain things with my kids. Because even if I was at hockey practice with them, or even when I was in the classroom as the craft mom for that week, my mind wasn’t there.”

To this day, Cameron Bure still has regrets about this.

“And I feel I can look back and I feel bad about that,” she added. “I wish I could have enjoyed those moments more and sat in it, but my mind was often future-thinking, going, ‘Well, what else is next? What am I going to do?’”

Cameron Bure’s Previous Comments

This isn’t the first time Cameron Bure has opened up about this time in her life. Last year, she further opened up about it while appearing on her former Full House co-star Dave Coulier’s podcast “Full House Rewind.” There, Cameron Bure explained when her three children were small, her family frequently moved from city to city while her husband Val was playing in the NHL.

Valeri played in the NHL from 1995 until 2004. During his career, he played for various teams like Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, and Dallas Stars.

“Some of it’s a blur, but that’s when I took time off from acting,” she recalled. “Like, I didn’t act for 10 years. That’s once I had my kids, I was like, ‘OK, I’m a full-time mom and supporting my husband’s career, to go to games and cheer him on.’”

“You just do it,” Cameron Bure advised. “All the ladies, we just do it.”

Coulier replied by remembering that he questioned if Cameron Bure would ever return to Hollywood.

“I was like, ‘Oh, Candace has a really nice life, she’s got three really nice kids and a husband,’ but you came back. What brought you back?” he asked.

Cameron Bure responded by saying that she was drawn back to acting because of the positive experience that she had growing up working on Full House. Indeed, she was only 11 when she began acting on that sitcom alongside Bob Saget and John Stamos.

“Truthfully, I’ve loved the industry, and I credit you, Bob, John and Jeff Franklin,” she said. “Hundreds of other people, who were our Full House family – but you guys gave us the best experience.”

Cameron Bure Was ‘So Grateful’

In the crazy world of Hollywood, many child stars do not walk away with positive experiences in the industry. Unlike them, however, Cameron Bure is lucky enough to have fond memories of her child stardom.

“I know there’s tons of horror stories out there, and I am so empathetic and feel for everyone that has had a bad experience,” she said. “Like, it breaks my heart. However, I am so grateful and blessed that those aren’t our stories, and it made me want to stay in the business.”

“So, I took a break because I wanted to raise my kids,” Cameron Bure concluded. “But I always had the desire that if the doors would open again when it felt like the right time to come back, that I would.”

We applaud Cameron Bure for being so open about this time in her life. In the end, she’s one of the few stars out there promoting family values on a daily basis. If only we had more celebrities out there like her.

God bless you, Candace Cameron Bure!
