Yesterday, we reported that the singer Britney Spears was arrested on suspicion of a DUI. Now, insiders are claiming that Spears is “embarrassed” by her arrest after her two sons turned on her over it.

Spears ‘Embarrassed’ By Arrest

Spears, 44, was arrested in Ventura, California on the night of Wednesday, March 4. She was released in the early hours of Thursday morning, and she is next due to appear in court on May 6.

A source close to Spears is claiming that the “Oops I Did It Again” singer is feeling “very emotional and regretful”  about her arrest because of her fears regarding how it will impact her sons. She shares sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

“She’s very emotional and regretful this morning. She’s also embarrassed because of how it could affect her sons,” the insider told People Magazine. “She loves them very much and never wants them to feel like she’s letting them down.”

Spears’ Sons Turn On Her

Meanwhile, other sources are claiming that while Sean Preston and Jayden love their mom dearly, they have no intention of becoming responsible for her and her wellbeing.

“They love their mom, but they’re not going to be responsible for her,” an insider told Rob Shuter. “That’s simply not their role.”

“They’ve already carried a lot growing up,” the source explained. “They want their mom to be healthy, but they can’t fix this for her.”

Spears’ sons lived primarily with their father during their teenage years. Jayden has slowly been reconnecting with Spears as of late. As for Sean Preston, however, he’s mainly remained in Hawaii with Federline.

“They hope she gets help,” the insider concluded. “But this is something Britney has to do for herself.”

Spears Arrested

The California Highway Patrol has said that Spears was “driving erratically at a high rate of speed … showed signs of impairment and submitted to a series of field sobriety tests.” She also “was subsequently arrested for a violation of California Vehicle Code section 23152(g), driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol” and booked in Ventura Country Main Jail.

“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” Spears’ rep told USA Today after her arrest. “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”

“Her boys are going to be spending time with her,” the representative continued. “Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well-being.”

Spears’ History

Spears has certainly had her ups and downs over the years. Indeed, in 2021, she was released from her 13-year conservatorship by a judge in Los Angeles. Spears has since been very outspoken about her feelings of being mistreated by her family, including dad Jamie, 73, mom Lynne, 70, and sister Jamie Lynn, 34.

“For those of you in your family that have said to help you is to isolate you and make you feel unbelievably left out … they were wrong. We can forgive as people but u don’t ever forget,” Spears wrote on Instagram last month. “Yearning and longing for contact is always crucial !!!”

Spears went on to say that she believes she is “incredibly lucky to even be alive with how my family treated me once in my life and now I’m scared of them.”

This has clearly been a very difficult time for Spears. We can only pray that this arrest is a wakeup call that helps her to turn her life around.
