Jennifer Lopez shocked the world back in August when she filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on the second anniversary of their wedding celebration.
While there has been plenty of drama surrounding the couple, now Affleck is using three surprising words to describe Lopez.
Affleck Is Asked About Lopez
Lopez, 55, is starring in the upcoming movie Unstoppable, which is set to hit theaters next month. In the film, she plays the mother of one-legged NCAA champion wrestler Anthony Robles – an extraordinary young man who won the 2011 NCAA individual wrestling national championship in the 125-pound weight class during his time as a student at Arizona State University.
Affleck, 52, serves as a producer on the film along with his best friend Matt Damon. When asked about Lopez by Entertainment Tonight, Affleck replied with three simple words that may surprise you considering all the goings on:
“Jennifer is spectacular,” he said.
Affleck was asked this while promoting Small Things Like These, which he also produced with Damon through their production company Artists Equity.
“Unstoppable is a very different movie than this, but in a way it is similarly rooted in the passion of really talented artists, and [director] Billy Goldenberg and Jennifer and Don Cheadle and Jharrel [Jerome] and Bobby Cannavale, all of whom were really passionate about this film,” Affleck continued.
“It kind of speaks to a certain kind of thing, I guess, we’re drawn to, which is we really believe in the power of storytelling when the people involved in it are deeply emotionally connected to the story,” he added.
It just goes to show how powerful love is, even amid a divorce!

Unstoppable
Unstoppable premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September. This came just two weeks after Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20.
“It’s another one we’re really, really proud of, and I think if there’s any sort of key to what success we’ve had so far and I feel already even though Small Things Like These hasn’t opened yet, it’s just an enormous success for us because of how beautiful it is,” Affleck gushed. “We believed in the right people, and Unstoppable is another example of it.”

Lopez And Affleck’s History
Lopez and Affleck met in December of 2001 on the set of their movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.
Lopez and Affleck each went on to marry and divorce different people. Affleck married Garner in 2005 and had three children with her before they divorced in 2018. Prior to Lopez, Affleck’s union with Garner was his only marriage.
Meanwhile, Lopez married the singer Marc Anthony, staying with him from 2004 until they divorced in 2014. He’s the father of her twins.
Affleck was actually Lopez’s fourth husband. Her first marriage was to the actor Ojani Noa, who she was married to from 1997 until 1998. She then married her backup dancer Cris Judd in 2002, and they divorced the next year.
While it’s sad that Affleck and Lopez are splitting, it’s nice to see that they are on well enough terms that he’s calling her “spectacular.” We wish them both the best of luck as they move on with their respective lives!
