The former “Baywatch” star Nicole Eggert took to Instagram on Thursday to post a video in which she shaved her own head as she battles a “very rare” form of breast cancer.

Eggert Shaves Her Head

Daily Mail reported that the 52 year-old Eggert, who is best known for playing Summer Quinn on the 1990s television show “Baywatch,” posted a video of herself shaving her head with a razor. She was eventually joined by one of her daughters, who stepped in towards the end to help her mother out.

At the end of the video, Eggert sat in her living room with a smile on her face as she showed off her newly-bald head.

“Maybe healing involves not so much changing ourselves but allowing ourselves to be who we are,” she wrote in the caption.

Social media users were quick to show their support for Eggert in the comments section.

“Sending you a big hug ❤,” wrote the former “Beverly Hills 90210” star Jennie Garth, with the ex-“Charmed” actress Alyssa Milano adding, “Grace. You have the most grace. It’s inspiring and I appreciate you.”

“BAD ASS WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 isn’t it freeing?????? You’ve got this,” commented Eggert’s former “Baywatch” co-star Erika Eleniak. “I’m so proud of your honesty, integrity and strength. That’s half the battle.”

Eggert’s Cancer Diagnosis

Eggert shocked her fans back in December when she announced that she’s been diagnosed with a “very rare” form of breast cancer. She confirmed to People Magazine in January that she was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer the month before.

“My heart dropped, I lost all hearing, everything sank,” Eggert recalled of her diagnosis. “It’s named invasive cribriform carcinoma. It’s very rare. The self-exams, I’m telling you, I kick myself. That’s the one thing I should have been doing.”

Eggert went on to explain that her breast implants made self-exams difficult.

“If I didn’t have them and I had my smaller, natural breasts, I am sure I would have felt it much sooner,” she said, branding the implants as being a “huge mistake.”

Eggert’s Difficult Cancer Battle

Eggert has been open about how difficult her cancer battle has been for her.

“This journey’s been rough for me. This hasn’t been a breezy sale through life,” she previously said. “I always read inspirational quotes and corny stuff, but it gets me through.”

Eggert explained that it has “not been an easy road” for her financially as a single mother to a 12 year-old daughter, leading to a GoFundMe page being set up on her behalf to help pay her medical bills.

“I absolutely 100% want to start a non-profit for other single parents such as myself, who don’t have any family, don’t have anybody to turn to,” she said. “They take on all this by themselves because they love their kids so much, but when something happens to them, then what?”

“I’ve gotten such an outpouring of love and it makes you feel so good. It changes your whole day and other people just don’t have that,” Eggert continued. “So I really want to figure out a way to give back to other parents that are in my situation that aren’t as fortunate.”

This is clearly a very difficult time for Eggert and her family. Please join us in saying a prayer for them as she continues her cancer battle.
