Israel Adesanya Criticizes Judges Following UFC Vegas 74, Says They Should Be Interviewed

World Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya was more than a little upset following the judges’ decision following the headlining fight of UFC Vegas 74 on Saturday night. In a video posted on YouTube, he complained that the officials should be held publicly accountable for their calls.

The final contest of the card, featuring Adesanya’s teammate Kai Kara-France was ruled in favor of Amir Albazi, despite the fight looking to be in the opposite direction. On the verge of a potential title bout, Kara-France entered the UFC Vegas 74 event looking for an easy victory and a chance to showcase his skills. Instead, the man who entered as the #5 contender in Ultimate Fighting Championship’s flyweight division saw his overall record in MMA fall to 24-11.

On the flip side, it was a huge win in the career of Albazi, an Iraqi native who has now won five straight fights in the UFC. His career mixed martial arts mark is a healthy 17-1, after competing in promotions such as Bellator and Fight Star.

While Albazi might have been celebrating the scorecard, Israel Adesanya was NOT. In his video, he repeatedly took personal shots at the judges, laced with heavy profanity.

“Nah bro…F*ck yous!!!” Adesanya wrote.

He also put forth another post calling out some of the individual judges in the fight, tweeting “Fire Chris Lee & Sal Deez nuts.”

“I tweeted that before even seeing the scorecards because I knew them two will f*ck it up!!” Israel Adesanya continued. “How many times will they rob athletes of their moments of glory, of their money, their livelihood for their family? F*ck them c*nts, they need to expire quickly and go. Mike Bell was the only judge to score this properly, the other two deff need to disappear.”

Kai Kara-France joined his teammate in the same sentiments.

“To have a bit of time to kind of reflect and let it sink in, look at all the stats, and watch the fight back, I lost, but I didn’t lose,” Kara-France told The MMA Hour. “It’s a weird feeling when you’re at the after-party with Shaquille O’Neal and he’s DJing and you’re thinking, ‘Bro, I should be celebrating a win right now,’ and it feels like I should be but I don’t have that W next to my name. So it’s a tough one.”

“It’s hard to see how the judges gave it to Amir. When you look at it, in black and white, what the stats were and what he was trying to implement, and I what I was able to neutralize and capitalize on moments, I definitely thought I won and I feel like the whole world does. I haven’t met anyone or seen anyone yet that thought Amir won besides Amir. But hey… that’s the fight.”

“I can’t change the result. I feel like my stocks don’t go down at all. People know that I’m one of the best guys in the world and that performance showed that I’m at the highest level.”
