The Hollywood star Jane Fonda may be 85 years-old, but she has no plans to stop protesting over climate change anytime soon.

Fonda Refuses To Stop Protesting

“I don’t know how you could not,” Fonda told Page Six of her climate protests. “I have grandchildren. I love animals, I love nature. We’re going to destroy it all if we don’t.”

“It’s all hands on deck right now, it’s urgent, urgent and everyone has to join in right now,” she continued.

Fonda, who earned herself the nickname Hanoi Jane with her protests during the Vietnam War, is the founder of the group Fire Drill Fridays, which protests weekly on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, “to demand that action by our political leaders be taken to address the climate emergency we are in.”

“Inspired by Greta Thunberg’s call to act like ‘our house is on fire’ and guided by Naomi Klein’s Green New Deal advocacy, Jane reached out to Annie Leonard, co-executive director of Greenpeace USA, and other trusted allies to say she was ready to do whatever it would take to stop the climate crisis,” the Fire Drill Friday website states.

Fonda Protests Against Biden

Fonda has been arrested multiple times during these protests, but she doesn’t seem to care. Last week, she protested against President Joe Biden’s “broken promises” on climate policies in New York City.

“We’ve been polite, we’ve marched, we’ve protested, we’ve written, we’ve made speeches. We have to up the ante now,” she said during this protest, according to Fox News. “We have little time left. The opportunity to save the planet and our future – the window on that is closing rapidly, and we have to do something about it.”

Back in November, Fonda called on every American to use their voices to bring about change.

“We’re all citizens of this country, and we all have to use whatever platform we have to speak to the values that we believe in and things that we feel must happen,” she said, according to The Hill.

Despite being a proud liberal for decades, Fonda hasn’t been afraid to speak out against Biden during his presidency.

“He’s done a lot of very good things. But not enough. Not bold enough. And not fast enough,” she said of Biden in 2021, according to Daily Mail. “We’re up against time. The scientists say we have less than nine years to cut our emissions in half.”

“Line 3 is going in the absolute opposite direction, and the news every day is telling us, emissions are going up, not down,” she added. “So we have to put our bodies on the line and do whatever we can to get our administration to call a halt to these permits.”

Fonda Blames Climate Protest On Racism

Earlier this year, Fonda blamed the climate crisis on racism.

“You can take anything — sexism, racism, misogyny, homophobia, whatever, the war,” Fonda said back in January, according to Market Watch. “And if you really get into it, and study it and learn about it and the history of it, everything’s connected. There’d be no climate crisis if it wasn’t for racism.”

It’s unfortunate for all of us that Fonda has decided to continue with her radical activism well into her old age. We can only hope that she eventually decides to give this nonsense a rest, because we’re sick of hearing from her!
