Candace Cameron Bure Reveals Why Godly Friendships Are ‘A Gift’

Candace Cameron Bure of “Full House” and “Fuller House” fame has long been one of the only openly conservative Christian stars in Hollywood. In a new interview, she’s opening up about the importance of godly friendships, describing them as “a gift” from the Lord.

Cameron Bure Talks Godly Friendships

During a recent episode of her podcast, Cameron Bure opened up about her friendship with Mandy Young-Sigley, who is the only person in the world with a specific gene deficiency.

“She should have died many times over,” said Cameron Bure, 46. “Her body doesn’t actually recognize if it’s sick. So she’s had meningitis three times. It doesn’t know it’s sick until it’s about to die, literally within an hour of death.”

Cameron Bure went on to say that Young-Sigley had to have her leg amputated when she was nine years-old, but despite this, she’s “pure sunshine” to be around.

“She is pure sunshine….And she just exudes the joy of the Lord, and she wouldn’t change her life for anything,” Cameron Bure gushed. “She is the lab rat of the NIH, the National Institute of Health. So she’s like a living lab rat, allows them to do all kinds of tests and things to help other people. And she’s like, ‘I wouldn’t change it for anything.’”

“It’s grown her in character and in attitude and in all things,” she added. “And so I look at that, because she trusts the Lord that that was her purpose in life.”

Another Godly Friendship

Cameron Bure also talked about her friendship with a woman named Debbie, who mentored her after she moved to Florida and began praying for Christian friends in her area. Sure enough, she soon met Debbie, who quickly revealed to her that she’d been praying about starting a Bible study.

“I was like, ‘Can I start a Bible study with you? I would love to.’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah…We’ll talk to a few other people,’” Cameron Bure recalled. “Debbie ended up becoming my mentor. We met for seven years, every week either in my home or her home or a couple other people’s.”

“She was genuinely the nicest person I’ve ever known in my life. Such a servant’s heart. And I just never had experienced that before,” Cameron Bure continued. “She shined God’s light so much and spoke so much into my life.”

‘What A Gift’ From God

Cameron Bure’s co-host Tara-Leigh Cobble responded to this by describing these friendships as being “a gift” from God.

“What a gift that God has just put these people in our lives to let us see more of who He is,” Cobble said. “And I hope that that is the case for anybody who’s listening—that God is just dropping people in your life to reveal more of who He is to you.”

Cameron Bure has long been open about her strong Christian faith, describing herself as a devote Christian.

“I am a devoted Christian,” she said last year, according to Christian Broadcasting Network. “Which means that I believe that every human being bears the image of God. Because of that, I am called to love all people, and I do. If you know me, you know that I am a person who loves fiercely and indiscriminately.”

“My heart yearns to build bridges and bring people one step closer to God, to love others well, and to simply be a reflection of God’s huge love for all of us,” she added.

Despite receiving backlash from the left at times for her faith, Cameron Bure has refused to back down from speaking about it publicly. God bless her for continuing to use her platform to spread the word of the Lord!
