Whoopi Goldberg On Wuhan Lab Leak Theory: ‘Politics Got In The Way’
Whoopi Goldberg is saying that "politics got in the way" of people believing that COVID-19 leaked from a lab in Wuhan.
Whoopi Goldberg has responded after the FBI director Christopher Wray finally admitted that COVID-19 “most likely” came from a lab in Wuhan, China.

‘Politics Got In The Way’
“The politics got in the way of a lot of looking for the truth,” Goldberg said on “The View” on Wednesday, according to Daily Mail. “They still are not saying definitively and that’s a problem. They still don’t know for sure. You know, who knows where it came from. Maybe it did. Maybe it didn’t.”
Unsurprisingly, Goldberg went on to blame the former President Donald Trump, a favorite target of hers, for the truth about COVID-19’s origins not coming out sooner. She claimed that Trump made it a race issue, accusing him of riling up hate against Asian Americans at the start of the pandemic.
“I know when the last guy before Biden said anything about this – he made it about Asian people,” Goldberg continued. “I’m sure Jon Stewart didn’t realize that’s what was happening because I’m sure he didn’t know what was going on all over the country with Asian folks getting smacked and hit and people saying stuff to them about bringing the disease here.”
Goldberg was referring to comments made by Stewart, the former host of “The Daily Show,” who recently revealed he got severe backlash from the left after he dared to bring up the Wuhan lab leak theory in a 2021 interview with Stephen Colbert.

“If ‘you know who’ had not started it with that, had he not made it about that … it probably would have been listened to a lot differently,” Goldberg concluded.

Goldberg’s Co-Hosts Respond
Goldberg’s co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, who previously worked in the Trump administration, responded by talking about how crucial it is that we find out the exact origins of COVID-19.
“I remember February of 2020, before a lot of countries were even shut down for travel, I was at the [Department of Defense] and we were talking about an accidental lab leak as a very legitimate way that this could have come about,” Griffin said. “The effort to silence it, I think, was disruptive to getting answers.”
Co-host Sunny Hostin called out China for not giving the world more answers about how COVID-19 really started.
“The reason there is so much uncertainty is because the Chinese did not cooperate with the international community,” Hostin said.
Goldberg, however, continued to blame Trump, saying that “he didn’t help the case” when it came to the lab leak theory. Check out the full segment in the video below.

Trump Presented Lab Leak Theory From The Beginning
USA Today reported that Trump was asked three years ago if he had a “high degree of confidence” that COVID-19 originated in a lab in Wuhan.
“Yes, I have. Yes, I have,” Trump replied. “And I think the World Health Organization should be ashamed of themselves because they’re like the public relations agency for China.”
Because it was Trump who said this, however, the liberal media refused to buy into it and instead accused him of racism. Had the Trump derangement syndrome of Goldberg and the rest of the media not been so blatant, we all might have found out the truth about the origins of COVID-19 much sooner.
