Leon Edwards proved he is the best welterweight in the world at UFC 286.
Edwards earned his first title defense, besting former champion Kamaru Usman in the third meeting between the two. The bout headlined the event from The O2 Arena in London, England.
Following five rounds and 25 minutes of action, it was Edwards declared the winner via majority decision. He moved to 2-1 all-time vs. Usman, including back-to-back victories with the title on the line.
In the co-main event, Justin Gaethje upset Rafael Fiziev, also scoring a majority decision.
Gunnar Nelson, Jennifer Maia and Marvin Vettori were also main card winners, with Nelson winning via submission.
On the prelims, Jack Shore, Chris Duncan, Yanal Ashmoz, Muhammad Mokaev, Lerone Murphy, Christian Leroy Duncan, Jake Hadley, Joanne Wood, Jai Herbert and Veronica Hardy picked up wins.
Bonuses went to Gaethje and Fiziev for “Fight of the Night,” with Nelson and Hadley earning “Performance of the Night” awards.
