Trish Stratus is stepping back into the ring for WrestleMania 39. This will be the retired wrestler’s first match since her bout against Charlotte Flair at the 2019 SummerSlam event. With that said, is this a one-off bout or will there be more to come?
Fans are quite excited about the WWE Hall of Famer and her six-woman tag match at WM 39. She’ll be teaming up with the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Becky Lynch and Lita.
The trio is facing Damage CTRL’s Bayley, IYO SKY, and Dakota Kai. Stratus was chatting with SHAK Wrestling’s Shakeil Mahjouri when asked if there are more matches to come for her or if this ‘Mania bout was a “one-off” thing.
Stratus notes that for now, “let’s get to WM” and “see what’s gonna happen”. She reveals that she’s currently a judge for the Canada’s Got Talent show, plus, she’s still a businesswoman and mom of two.
Trish states that it’s been “quite the balance” being on the road, managing her business, and having two little ones. While she does have childcare in place, she trains from 9 p.m. until midnight after she puts her children to bed.
Stratus also says that she can’t do this (wrestling) full-time because she does have other jobs. However, she notes that she’ll have to go to ‘Mania to see what happens next.
During a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer notes that there are rumors that Stratus could turn heel. The end result would be a program with “The Man” Becky Lynch, heading into this year’s SummerSlam.
While this is just “buzz” and not confirmed, Meltzer also says that what has been confirmed is that there are twists and turns on the horizon for Trish Stratus’s WrestleMania 39 storyline. Fans will have to wait and see.
Over to some AEW news, the promotion has hired Sarah Stock. More information on this story is down below.
PW Insider is reporting that Sarah Stock has been hired by AEW. Her new role for the promotion will be coach and producer.
In addition, Tony Khan recently announced that Stock was joining AEW after Dynamite went off the air. A Winnipeg native, he introduced Sarah to her hometown crowd at the event.
As per the PW Insider report, Stock started with AEW during the taping on March 15th. She was previously employed with the WWE, dating back to 2015.
Sarah began working with the WWE at the Performance Center as a guest coach. The promotion eventually moved her to a main roster producer role.
Unfortunately, she was furloughed and then released in the latter part of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before that, Stock had an in-ring career, working for CMLL, AAA, as well as TNA.
In fact, she was a two-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion during her run with Impact. On behalf of everyone here at WNZ, we wish Stock all the best in her new AEW role.
