Surveillance Video Shows Las Vegas Assault Involving New Orleans Saints Running Back Alvin Kamara And Three Others

Saints star Alvin Kamara faces more legal questions, as video of his alleged involvement in a felony assault incident has now been released

The New Orleans Saints’ Alvin Kamara may be one of the most talented running backs in the NFL, but that doesn’t mean he can outrun the law. And the 27-year-old superstar may have just run into even more trouble.

Kamara, Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Chris Lammons, and two other men were indicted by a grand jury last month for allegedly assaulting a man at a Las Vegas nightclub in February 2022. The four men were indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit battery, as well as battery resulting in substantial bodily harm.

The alleged beating took place at Drai’s Rooftop Nightclub, located on The Vegas Strip. That’s where police say the group attacked the alleged victim, Darnell Greene. There is no confirmation as to what started the altercation.

Kamara, 26, was in town for the Pro Bowl that week. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police arrested him following him playing in that game. He was held at that time on $5,000 bail for felony battery.

Any relationship between the football player and the alleged victim is unclear at this time. What is clear, however, is video evidence that has now been released of the incident. And it’s pretty damning.

The clip of Alvin Kamara and the other three men attacking Greene was beyond brutal.

In it, they are seen inflicting multiple injuries to the victim, including a broken orbital bone. Greene has filed a $10 million civil suit against Kamara for his role in it all.

If found guilty, Alvin Kamara faces up to five years in prison. Needless to say, he’ll be suspended from the NFL in any event and may even be banned from ever playing again. The League has been pushing a zero-tolerance policy in terms of arrests for any violent crime.

While that originally stemmed from an outbreak of domestic assaults, Commissioner Roger Goodell has made it clear that this type of behavior will not go unpunished. At home, or on the road.

Frankly speaking, there’s a good chance that this Bayou ‘back may have now done all the running he’s ever going to do. At least in the National Football League. And that would prematurely end what has been a sparkling career so far.

In six years in the NFL, the former University of Alabama standout has racked up 5,135 yards on the ground, with 49 rushing touchdowns, while maintaining a 4.5 yards per carry average. He will be 28 years old when the 2023 season kicks off this Fall.
