Ronda Rousey – WrestleMania 39 Change, Miro Declines AEW

Ronda Rousey was set for a tag team title match at WrestleMania 39, but there is a late change. Also, Miro declined a match from AEW.

Originally, WWE planned on having Ronda Rousey team with Shayna Baszler and going for the Women’s Tag Team Championship. It was unknown who the champions would be heading into WrestleMania 39.

Now, plans have changed. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports how the former MMA fighters will be part of a fatal four-way tag bout.

As of now, only Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez are part of the match. They earned that opportunity by defeating Emma and Tegan Nox.

Rousey is dealing with an arm injury, which led to speculation about her WrestleMania 39 status. She is yet to be confirmed for WrestleMania, but that could change during tonight’s SmackDown.

For most of last year, Rousey was in programs for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. That include title wins over Charlotte Flair and Morgan.

In the past, Rousey has been featured in title matches or marquee bouts at the grandest stage of the year. Rousey did request to team with Baszler, who has not been a major star on the main roster.

In real life, the two are friends and members of the MMA Four Horsewomen.

For now, it appears the WWE Women Tag Team Championship will not be defended at WrestleMania. Becky Lynch and Lita won the titles from Damage CTRL’s Dakota Kia and Iyo Sky.

Instead, WrestleMania 39 will see Lynch, Lita and Trish Stratus take on Bayley, Kia and Sky. There have been hints of Stratus turning heel, but no word if that will happen at WrestleMania.`

Miro Declines AEW

AEW is known to sign many former WWE superstars. As a result, their roster has become bloated and many names do not frequently appear.

Miro has been off AEW TV for months, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted how he was offered a match. Although, Miro turned down the idea.

He as contacted about working September’s Full Gear pay per view. Initially, the idea was he would be the runner-up in a battle royal to “Hangman” Adam Page.

While away, Miro and his wife, C.J. Perry (known to many as Lana in WWE), have been in Bulgaria. There is no word on his return to the United States or AEW.

Miro joined AEW and got a massive push. He won the TNT Championship and had a bunch of title defenses.

Despite not wrestling, Miro has remained busy. Recently, he reveled being a voice actor for an animated show on HBO called, Yellowbird.

With about three years left on his contract, Miro seems locked into AEW for the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, Perry has not returned to the pro wrestling scene since her WWE release.
