Priscilla Presley Was ‘Barely Speaking’ To Lisa Marie Before Her Death

It’s been two months since Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley, died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 54. Sources are now coming forward to claim that she and her mother Priscilla Presley, 77, were “barely speaking” prior to her untimely passing.

Priscilla And Lisa Marie Weren’t On Good Terms

Daily Mail reported that Lisa Marie was allegedly furious with her mother for siding with her ex-husband Michael Lockwood as they fought a bitter custody battle over their 14 year-old twin daughters. After splitting in 2016, the former couple continued to fight for custody until October of 2022, and Lisa Marie’s 33 year-old daughter Riley Keough even got involved. 

“Riley was always on her mom’s side when it came to Michael,” a source told People Magazine. “It bothered her that her grandmother and Michael flew to the funeral together.”

“Michael was not invited,” another close friend of Lisa Marie’s added. “He came to Memphis under the pretense that he had to chaperone the twins – and he forced his way in with Priscilla’s help. The last thing Lisa Marie would have wanted was for Michael to be there.”

Priscilla is currently in a legal battle with Riley over Lisa Marie’s will that she launched after learning that she had been cut out of it in 2016. If she prevails, Priscilla and Riley will be co-trustees over Lisa Marie’s estate, but neither of them want the other one to be involved. 

“Priscilla doesn’t want Riley solely in charge, because then she has no say. Meanwhile, Riley doesn’t want Priscilla to butt in,” said one source, with another adding, “It’s a very sad situation. Riley is shocked Priscilla is contesting the amendment. They do not see eye to eye.”

Priscilla And Riley ‘Gearing Up For Court’

The legal battle is set to go to court on April 13. The situation has been escalating ever since Lisa Marie’s death, which occurred on January 12. 

“It has been a very tense and heartbreaking few weeks for both Riley and Priscilla,” a source told Entertainment Tonight last month. “Riley has been mourning the loss of her mother and is heartbroken to have to deal with a trust dispute with a family member. Priscilla is adamant that she has a valid case and that she will prevail in court. Riley and Priscilla aren’t communicating at this time, but have been in communication through lawyers.”

This source went on to say that “they are both gearing up for court, Riley would prefer to settle this dispute privately.”

“She is heartbroken that this has turned into a public matter and knows her mother would never want this,” the source continued. “Riley is very stressed at the moment and has been trying to keep a positive attitude and outlook ahead of her new series coming out. Her daughter and husband have been keeping her in good spirits.”

Priscilla Thinks She’s ‘Right In Her Heart’

The source was referring to Riley’s upcoming miniseries “Daisy Jones & The Six,” which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. This insider concluded by saying that Priscilla believes that she “is right in her heart,” when it comes to Lisa Marie’s trust.

“She is convinced that old documents had been forged,” the source said.

It’s always sad to see any family be torn apart because of money, and that seems to be exactly what is happening here. We can only hope that Priscilla and Riley are able to come to some sort of agreement that will allow them to salvage their relationship moving forward, but it unfortunately does not seem like that is very likely to happen.
