Joy Behar disrespected America on Tuesday morning’s episode of “The View” when she had the audacity to question if this country is still “exceptional.”

Behar Disrespects America

The Washington Examiner reported that Behar, 80, made these comments while the panel was discussing a recent poll that suggested only 33% of Americans find patriotism important.

“Listen, we all know it’s a great country because we all have benefited from some of the great things about this country,” Behar said. “But, kids today, who are young people now, are looking at this country, and they’re saying, ‘If I get sick, I could become bankrupt. … If I go to college, I could be in debt until I collect social security.'”

Behar went on to say that “major things” like mass shootings were making people turn on America.

“I think that access to the internet has caused a lot of people to say, ‘Gee, they can do it in Denmark. They can do it in Sweden. They can do it and Italy has national health even,'” she said.

“There are many countries in the world that really do take on these issues,” Behar continued. “We’re thinking, are we that exceptional as we used to be? Yes, we’re a powerful country. We have the best military, but what about the people?”

Co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in to compare this to the debate about the American flag.

“That’s another thing,” Behar fired back. “I put my flag out because I don’t want Republicans to think that they own the flag. I’m a liberal Democrat; that flag goes out every year on my porch.”

Behar On Nashville Shooting

This came the same day that Behar shamelessly politicized the shooting that took place at at Christian elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee the day before.

“Nothing. They’ll do nothing. They do nothing. It’s all about the money,” Behar said of conservative lawmakers, according to Yahoo News

“You know, Marsha Blackburn is a senator from Tennessee. She, of course, sent out her thoughts and prayers,” Behar continued. “She is 13th on a list of senators who received the most money from the NRA. She received over $1.3 million in donations, while representing a state with 1,273 gun deaths a year. OK, follow the money.”

“All these people who are selling guns, they make a lot of money off of children’s deaths apparently, in this country,” she added. “They’re worrying about you know, other people, books, bologna items. This, they will not do anything about.”

Behar Turns 80

Behar was one of the original hosts of “The View” when it premiered back in 1997, and though she was fired in 2013, she was brought back two years later and has remained on the show ever since. She celebrated her 80th birthday in October of last year, but despite this, she has “no plans” to retire.

“I just signed a contract so I’ll be here for a while,” Behar told People Magazine around the time of her birthday. “I have no plans to retire.”

“It’s really, you know, something that is an important show in many ways,” she went on to say of the ABC talk show. “Sometimes I don’t believe that, as I’ve been here since the beginning, but we’re the most-watched show in daytime. Most-watched! I’m happy to be a part of it. So no, I’m not going anywhere. I’m having a good time.”

It’s infuriating that Behar continues to be given a platform to spew her leftwing nonsense on national television every morning. Behar’s latest comments about America shows what little respect she has for this country. It remains to be seen how much longer ABC executives will think it’s worth keeping someone as anti-American as she is on television.
