According to FTR’s Dax Harwood, AEW needs CM Punk. Also, if Bray Wyatt doesn’t make WrestleMania 39, a possible replacement for Bobby Lashley.
When fans learned CM Punk would end his long hiatus from pro wrestling to join AEW, it got people talking. For the most part, fans were happy to see him return and interested if he still had it.
Basically, Punk’s run in AEW went pretty good. He had some memorable feuds and moments, including winning the AEW World Championship.
Then, everything changed after All Out in September of last year. Punk won AEW’s biggest title against Jon Moxley.
In the post show press conference, he buried The Elite. Afterwards, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks got into a backstage brawl with Punk.
As a result, all parties involved were suspend. Only Punk has not returned, but he is also injured.
When it comes to AEW, Punk still has a few friends left. In particular, FTR’s Dax Harwood.
Harwood told Fightful how he speaks to Punk almost daily. Also, he mentioned not liking Punk at first before becoming close acquaintances.
He continued how Punk misses wrestling and he wants to tell his side of the All Out brawl. Harwood wants everyone to move past the fiasco and thinks AEW needs Punk.
One half of FTR also admitted that his podcast has brought on heat. He hopes to have Punk on his podcast again at some point to tell the truth about what went down in September.
He chalked what occurred to just one of those situations that happens in the business. The conversation concldiued with how they trade Bret Hart clips on a regular basis.
There is no word if Punk will return to AEW. His injury should be healed shortly, so the answer might be clearer in the near future.
As for FTR, their contracts with AEW are up next month. Some think they have already re-signed, with others thinking they are headed back to WWE.
FTR will challenge The Gunns for the AEW Tag Team Championship. If FTR loses, they will leave AEW.
