After a lengthy career, Christopher Daniels talks retirement, which does not seem far-off. Also, what is extent of NXT’s Jacy Jayne’s injury?

Christopher Daniels Talks Retirement

For three decades, Christopher Daniels has entertained fans inside the wrestling ring. He is best known for working in Impact Wrestling, Ring Of Honor and now AEW.

He briefly worked for WCW, but did not last long as the promotion was nearing closure. Also, he made a few appearance for WWE as enhancement talent.

Still, he is one of the few wrestlers who was able to make a living and name for himself without WWE. Now, days shy of his 53rd birthday, Daniels is seeing his in-ring career ending.

In fact, he spoke to WrestleZone ahead of his AAA Lucha Libre World Cup match. He was honest and stated the match could be his final one.

“It could be my last one and I understand that,” said Daniels. “Part of the challenge now is to wrestle like it could be my last match.”

“My spirit is willing. Sometimes, my flesh is weak and that’s the real situation.”

“As long as my spirit is strong, I’m going to keep doing this as long as I can. I don’t think this is the last time that I’ll get an opportunity to work for AAA.”

“I have a good relationship with the company itself and [we’ll] see what happens. Then, after we win, anything is possible.”

Lately, Daniels has not wrestled too much. Although, he did work AEW’s House Rules live event on March 18, losing to TNT Champion Powerhouse Hobbs.

Also, he has wrestled at some recent ROH shows as AEW wrestlers are known to take part. Remember, Tony Khan owns AEW and ROH.

For now, Daniels is busy as AEW’s Head of Talent Relations. And, he seems to have no problem putting over younger talent.

When NXT was relaunched, several dramatic changes took place. In particular, Toxic Attraction was formed and they tore through the roster for about 18 months.

Mandy Rose returned to NXT from the main roster, where she was joined by Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolin. At one time, they all held NXT gold at once.

Unfortunately, Rose’s WWE career ended out of nowhere. After 413 days as NXT Women’s Champion, she was released as WWE did not like the NSFW content she posted.

Jayne and Dolin kept the group going, but that ended last month. Fans saw the group end when Jayne attacked Dolin.

A few weeks later and they had a match, where Dolin won. The match was nothing special and Jayne reveled her arm was injured in the opening minutes.

During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez suggested WWE was aware of the injury. Hence, why the match was rushed.

He continued how Jayne’s injury does not seem too serious. Therefore, look for the feud to continue.

Dolin is in the Ladder Match to crown a new NXT Women’s Champion at Stand & Deliver. Perhaps, Jayne gets involved to make sure her former friend, turned enemy, does not leave with any gold.

Whatever happens, WWE needs to keep the Jayne and Dolin feud going. Maybe, a Last Women’s Standing or Loser Leaves NXT match needs to be the endgame.
