The fifth week of the PFL Challenger Series saw the females step inside and step up to the challenge.
With Paige VanZant and Megan Anderson in attendance judging and directing the ship, Desiree Yanez impressed, earning a future contract.
The series airs live on Fubo TV from Universal Studios in Orlando each week.
Kaytlin Neil, Shanna Young and Lisa Mauldin all claimed victories, but it was the performance from Yanez that made the biggest impact.
Yanez, a Texas native, took on Maira Mazar of São Paulo. Back-and-forth action saw Yanez win via unanimous decision.
Yanez captured her second straight win, improving to 7-4 overall.
“The PFL Challenger Series resumed action tonight with eight women seeking an opportunity to earn a contract with the PFL,” said Ray Sefo, President of Fighter Operations of PFL. “It’s our honor to welcome Desiree Yanez to the PFL and the beginning for her $1 million journey.”
Featherweight action will be featured next week as the series continues.
