While Brock Lesnar dominated the 2020 Royal Rumble match, this year he got eliminated fairly quickly, by Bobby Lashley. Following this, Brock went into a fit of rage. Now it seems his actions have placed some heat on him, backstage.
Lesnar destroyed the commentary table and attacked Baron Corbin after his elimination at the 2023 Royal Rumble. According to Fightful Select, the post-elimination destruction at the hands of the Beast Incarnate was unplanned.
There were some people both inside and outside the ring who were not prepared for Lesnar’s stairs spot. In addition, the moment when Brock threw a piece of the commentary table in the ring was not planned.
A source in the report reveals it was known that a “freak-out” from Brock was coming, and because it is Lesnar, “anything and everything” could happen. With that said, the Beast got a bit of heat for throwing referee Eddie Orengo over the barricade.
Orengo was supposed to be the referee to raise Cody Rhodes’ hand in victory, after the Royal Rumble match. Unfortunately, to sell the spot, he was sent to the back.
That spot was unplanned, and it looked like the ref potentially sustained a foot injury. However, the status of Orengo is unknown as of this writing.
It’s important to note that while there was heat on Lesnar, one source states that “heat” is a relative term when it comes to Brock. He won’t get into any trouble or be fired.
The report also notes that no one involved in the spots was mad, but some backstage were upset. Regardless, as long as no one got injured in Lesnar’s fit of rage, this will likely die down.
Brock’s looking onward to WrestleMania 39, and it seems as if he and Bobby Lashley will clash. Speaking of the Grandest Stage of Them All, someone has extended Tom Brady an invite to WWE’s flagship event.
Brady recently announced his retirement from the NFL. Much to the shock of many.
As one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks of all time, his skills and athleticism have impressed many over the years. One such fan is the 2023 Royal Rumble winner, Cody Rhodes.
In fact, the American Nightmare believes that as Brady is retired, he should find his way up to WrestleMania 39. He notes that perhaps Tom should find his way “anywhere in the WWE.”
Rhodes extended Tom’s WrestleMania 39 invite during an interview on The Bump. While Cody notes that he is “shocked” that Brady retired, he also states that Tom might have a future “here” (WWE).
Interestingly enough, Cody notes that Brady is one of the GOATs of football. He also stated that he’s been a big inspiration in his career.
Rhodes believed that Brady would play for one more season, at least. He notes he thought Tom would play on one of the former New England Patriots’ new teams that are rumored, in San Francisco or Las Vegas.
At the age of 45, Tom Brady announced his NFL retirement on social media. The seven-time Super Bowl champion will be missed, but could the NFL’s loss be the WWE’s gain?
