During a recent interview, AEW star Adam Cole talks about how “scary” his recent recovery was from two head injuries. Plus, why did Dragon Lee miss NXT’s Vengeance Day event? WNZ has the answer to this.

Adam Cole Talks Recovery

Cole had been out since last summer due to a severe concussion. He made a return on the January 11th edition of AEW Dynamite, much to the relief of many fans.

Adam Cole recently spoke with Dave Meltzer and Garrett Gonzales on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (WOR). He talked about his return and how great it felt to be back.

He also states that being with the AEW crew and back on the road has been good for his mental health. He also notes that while he feels great physically, he does have some ways to go still.

Adam Cole Gets In-depth About His “Scary” Recovery

During his WOR interview, he confirmed he first was injured during the Owen Hart Tournament finals against Samoa Joe at the 2022 AEW Double or Nothing event. Then, he suffered another injury during the AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door event.

He states the “scariest part” of the entire ordeal was just how uncertain his recovery timeline was. For the first three weeks to a month, he seemed fine.

After that, some side effects began to pop up. Cole reveals that at one point, he couldn’t be in a vehicle for over 15 minutes.

He also states that he had to prepare for the possibility that he may never compete in a wrestling ring again. With that said, he was very appreciative of AEW for their support during his recovery.

The good news is that Adam Cole eventually did turn a corner, and admits to getting very emotional throughout everything. He also admits to loving his job more than anything.

He reveals that the idea of having to leave his wrestling career at this point in his life was devastating. Good thing he doesn’t have to!

Over to some NXT news, Dragon Lee missed out on this past weekend’s Vengeance Day event. WNZ has the reason behind this.

Dragon Lee Misses Vengeance Day

There has been a buzz around Dragon Lee’s NXT debut since he announced he’d be heading to the brand. Many fans expected to see him at some point during Vengeance Day this past Saturday.

Sadly, he was not there. During his latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talks about Lee’s NXT absence.

Issues With The Visa

As per Meltzer, Dragon was not at the event due to visa issues. Here’s hoping Lee and the WWE can clear this up and soon.

Looks like fans will have to wait a little longer to see Lee. Meanwhile, Karl Fredericks recently debuted on at an NXT live event but has yet to appear on television.

Dave talks about this as well, stating it’s due to recognition and the fact that he’s not that well known. Only time will tell when NXT viewers will see either Dragon Lee or Fredericks on television.
