Luke Bryan Issues Apology To ‘Anybody That Doesn’t Understand My Humor’ Amidst ‘Drugs And STDs’ Controversy

The country music star Luke Bryan is speaking out this week to offer a feeble apology after social media users blasted him as a “tasteless idiot” for the way he introduced a performance by Dustin Lynch at the Crash My Playa 2023 festival.

“No one has drank more liquor, no one has vomited more, no one has taken more drugs, no one has taken more IVs, no one has passed more STD tests than this gentleman,” Bryan can be seen saying in a viral TikTok video of the concert. “Give it up for Dustin Lynch!”

Bryan Issues Apology

Daily Mail reported that after receiving backlash for this, Bryan took to his Instagram Story to apologize while he was in the middle of duck hunting in a cornfield.

“Just saw where people are starting to chat about my introduction of Dustin Lynch. Dustin Lynch is one of my dearest friends on the planet no one respects him more than I do,” Bryan said, according to USA Today. “My introduction of him was complete sarcasm. Those words I used were so absurd I figured everybody would take it as sarcasm.”

Bryan went on to say that he talked to Lynch after the performance and that they are “all good.” He then apologized to “anybody that doesn’t understand my humor and sarcasm.”

“I spoke to Dustin. I love him. He and I are all good,” he concluded. “And I apologize to anybody that doesn’t understand my humor and sarcasm.”

Lynch responded to Bryan by saying, “Love ya bro. All good. We had a lot of fun down there again with the pirates.”

Social Media Users Slam Bryan

This came after Bryan’s speech was widely panned by social media users.

“I love Luke but he sounded like an idiot making that introduction good grief,” one user said, with another adding, “What Luke said about Dustin is so undeserving to be said. Dustin deserved a better introduction than that.”

“I understand he may have been drunk and he’s joking but as a DL fan this is disgusting of Luke to do,” a third user wrote, with a fourth saying, “What Luke Bryan said about Dustin Lynch is absolutely uncalled for! Nobody deserves an introduction to stage like Luke did to Dustin.”

Other fans, however, defended Bryan and his sense of humor.

“I think he was being funny,” one person said, with another adding, “Ever thought they’re very good friends?”

Liberals Attack Bryan

This isn’t the first time that Bryan has come under fire as of late. Back in October, he was slammed by leftists for bringing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis onstage during a fundraiser for Hurricane Ian victims, according to Page Six

“I understand Governor DeSantis is a very polarizing figure,” Bryan said in response to the backlash. “But I grew up in a country where if a governor ask you if they can come and raise awareness to help victims of a natural disaster you help.”

Anyone who is offended by what Bryan said about Lynch really needs to lighten up. Clearly the two of them are buddies who were just having fun with each other, and Bryan did not deserve to be slammed for it.

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
