The UFC made a bold statement on Friday in the wake of continued allegations surrounding gambling.
James Krause had his license suspended in Nevada, Darrick Minner released and fighters were warned that training under Krause – or at his gym – would result in them no longer working with the promotion.
All of this comes in the wake of an investigation into an issue surrounding Minner and his fight earlier this year. Krause is the head coach of Glory MMA and Fitness and a former fighter himself.
Along with Minner, he has worked with UFC interim flyweight champion Brandon Moreno, Grant Dawson, Tim Elliott, Anthony Smith, Laura Sanko and others.
He was the public face of an online bookmaker and even ran a Dischord server where he provided advice to fans on fights. His betting activity was flagged and he shut the service down.
In an email sent to all athletes and managers, and obtained by Ariel Helwani, Hunter Campbell noted that there is no prohibitions on athlete wagering.
