Michelle Obama Pays Tribute To Ellen DeGeneres’ DJ ‘tWitch’ After He Commits Suicide

Yesterday, we reported on the shocking suicide of Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who was the longtime DJ and eventual executive producer on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Now, the former First Lady Michelle Obama is speaking out to pay tribute to Boss after he was found dead in a Los Angeles motel room on Tuesday at the age of 40.

Obama Pays Tribute To Boss

Obama met Boss as she visited “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” many times over the years, and he also took part in her Let’s Move! initiative that is meant to combat childhood obesity, according to People Magazine. After his tragic suicide, Obama took to social media to pay tribute to him.

“I was heartbroken to learn about the passing of Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, who I got to know over the years through my Let’s Move! initiative and visits to The Ellen Show,” Obama wrote. “Stephen was an incredible force—someone who radiated kindness and positivity, and made sure that people around him could feel it, too.”

“We felt his spirit in every dance, every DJ set, every piece of creativity that he brought to life,” she added. “My heart goes out to his wife, Allison, and their three children, Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”

Obama ended her post by saying that “if any of you out there are struggling and need someone to talk to, please know that you are never alone. There is always someone ready to help. You can call or text the suicide and crisis hotline by dialing 988.”

Boss’s Suicide

The world was shocked yesterday when Boss’s widow Allison Holker, who he met years ago competing on “So You Think You Can Dance,” announced his passing.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us,” she said. “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt,” Holker continued. “I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.”

She ended her emotional statement by saying, “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”

DeGeneres Honors Boss

Boss became DeGeneres’ resident DJ on her talk show back in 2014, and he was promoted to executive producer in 2020 after the program’s toxic workplace scandal. DeGeneres also took to social media to pay tribute to Boss after his death was announced.

“I’m heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light,” she said. “He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”

Boss always seemed like such a positive and happy person, so his suicide serves as a reminder that you never really know what someone is going through behind the scenes. Please join us in saying a prayer for Boss’s family and friends during this devastating time.

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
