Ellen DeGeneres Breaks Her Silence After Her DJ tWitch Commits Suicide

Earlier today, we reported that Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the former DJ on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” committed suicide yesterday at the age of 40. Now, Ellen DeGeneres has broken her silence about his death as chilling details about his suicide have come to light.

“I’m heartbroken,” DeGeneres tweeted. “tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him.”

“Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia,” she continued.

New Details About Boss’s Death

It has since been revealed that Boss was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a room at the Oak Tree Motel, which is about 15 minutes from his six bedroom mansion in Los Angeles, at 11:15am on Tuesday.

Staffers at the motel told Daily Mail that a maid found Boss’s body after she went to check on him when he did not check out in time. He had checked into the motel the day before under his own name. The staffers went on to say that nobody heard the gun go off, and that the scene in his room was “pretty bad.”

“He went into his room, and he never came out. At 11.15am on Tuesday the maid opened the door to check on the room,” the motel manager said. “There was his stuff in there but no one there. She checked the bathroom, and there was blood everywhere.”

“She was very scared,” the manager continued. “This is the first time anything like that has happened here. We called 911, they told us to check his pulse but there was nothing. The paramedics and the police came, and they said he was dead. Maybe he did it during the day on Monday. It’s a busy, loud road outside here, it’s possible nobody heard it because of that.”

Boss reportedly called the motel at 9:20am on Monday to see if any rooms were available and then headed there on foot. He reportedly seemed “completely normal” and “calm” when he got to the motel.

Boss’s Widow Speaks Out

Boss had only just celebrated his ninth wedding anniversary with his wife Allison Holker three days before his suicide. He left home without his car on Monday, and when he wasn’t back by Tuesday morning, Holker went directly to LAPD headquarters to report him missing.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us,” Holker told People Magazine after Boss’s death. “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt,” she continued. “I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.”

Directly addressing her late husband, Holker said. “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you.”

Boss had been the resident DJ on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” since 2014, and he was promoted to executive producer in 2020 in the wake of the program’s toxic workplace scandal. His relatives have reportedly gone to his 6-bedroom home to comfort his family, and his son could be seen running out sobbing to greet them when they got there.

Please join us in saying a prayer for Boss’s loved ones during this difficult time.

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
