New Details About Boss’s Suicide

Daily Mail reported that a suicide note was found in the motel room where Boss, 40, killed himself using a firearm on Tuesday at the Oak Tree Inn in Encino, California. While the note has not been released, law enforcement sources told TMZ that it ambiguously alluded to past struggles.

Boss had checked into the motel at around 10.30am on Monday, and he was found dead in the bathroom by a maid the next morning after he failed to check out on time. He had left his home, which is around 15 minutes from the motel, via Uber, switching his phone onto airplane mode so that nobody could contact him.

“He went into his room, and he never came out,” said the motel’s manager, who was identified only as Rakesh. “At 11.15am on Tuesday the maid opened the door to check on the room. There was his stuff in there but no one there. She checked the bathroom, and there was blood everywhere.”

“She was very scared. This is the first time anything like that has happened here,” he continued. “We called 911, they told us to check his pulse but there was nothing. The paramedics and the police came, and they said he was dead.”

Rakesh went on to say that nobody at the motel heard a gunshot.

“Maybe he did it during the day on Monday,” he said. “It’s a busy, loud road outside here, it’s possible nobody heard it because of that.”

Boss’s Wife Stunned By His Suicide

Allison Holker, Boss’s wife of nine years, told police that there had been no fight or dispute between her and her husband before he left their home. She frantically reported him missing on Tuesday morning, telling the LAPD that it was extremely out of character of him to not be in contact with her.

Boss and Holker share three children: Zaia, 3, Maddox Laurel, 6, and Weslie Renae, 14, the last of whom is from Holker’s previous relationship but was adopted by Boss.

Boss was the resident DJ on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” from 2014 until it came to an end earlier this year, and he was promoted to executive producer after the program’s infamous toxic workplace scandal.

Ellen DeGeneres Honors Boss

Ellen DeGeneres described Boss as her “family” in an emotional Twitter post after his death was announced.

“I’m heartbroken,” she wrote. “tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”

DeGeneres also took to social media to mourn him by sharing a montage of some of their happier moments together.

“Right now what I want to do is remember all the love and laughter I had with tWitch,” she wrote. “He brought so much joy to my life. I know he brought joy to yours too. I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite moments with him. If you want to you can also share yours.”

Boss’s suicide serves as a grim reminder that you never really know what someone is going through behind the scenes. Please join us in saying a prayer for his family and friends as they struggle to make sense of this devastating loss.
