The ABC talk show “The View” went off the rails once again last week when Joy Behar scolded her co-host Whoopi Goldberg for “checking out” during a segment about finances.

‘Whoopi Checked Out’

The Sun reported that Behar, 80, took issue with Goldberg, 67, acting bored during a discussion in which the co-hosts talked about their spending habits. Goldberg looked as if she had no interest in the segment as Sunny Hostin joked that she was tired of paying for things like streaming services and ballet lessons for her children, and Sara Haines added that she and her husband have a joint banking account as well as separate accounts for themselves.

Goldberg eventually rested her head in her hands in boredom, prompting laughter from the audience.

“Right, Whoopi?” Hostin asked when she saw what Goldberg was doing.

That’s when Behar went off.

“Whoopi checked out an hour ago,” Behar said angrily.

Goldberg ignored Behar’s comment, and responded by saying, “If you’re married, you should always have some money that’s yours.”

Goldberg’s Marriage History

Goldberg has been married three times, with her first marriage being to Alvin Martin from 1973 to 1978, according to Pop Culture. She then married cinematographer David Claessen, who she stayed with from 1986 until 1988. Goldberg’s final marriage was to union organizer Lyle Trachtenberg, who she married in 1994 and divorced one year later.

Goldberg has made it clear that she has no plans to ever get married again.

“Some people are not meant to be married and I am not meant to,” she told The San Francisco Chronicle in 2010. “I’m sure it is wonderful for lots of people.”

When The Cut asked Goldberg about marriage in 2016, she responded by saying, “I don’t want somebody in my house.”

“I’m not that interested,” she continued. “I’m much happier on my own. I can spend as much time with somebody as I want to spend, but I’m not looking to be with somebody forever or live with someone.”

When asked if she’s always felt this way, Goldberg replied by saying, “Yes. I’m the round peg, and marriage is the square hole. You can’t have a square hole, can you?”

Meghan McCain Slams Goldberg

This comes after the former “The View” co-host Meghan McCain slammed Goldberg in her audio memoir “Bad Republican” last year.

“The thing about Whoopi … is that she yields so much power in culture and television, and once she turns on you, it can create unfathomable tension at the table,” she said.

“I found her open disdain for me more and more difficult to manage as the years went on, and it became more frequent,” McCain continued. “Occasionally, if the show’s political discourse veered into territory that she found disagreeable, Whoopi would cut me off, sometimes harshly.”

This also comes one month after Behar turned 80, and despite her advanced age, she isn’t interested in retiring.

“I just signed a contract so I’ll be here for a while,” she told People Magazine around the time of her birthday. “I have no plans to retire.”

“The View” has been going off the rails more than ever lately. It will certainly be interesting to see what Behar and Goldberg get up to in the episodes to come this week.
