British television personality Sharon Osbourne is opening up about how devastating the Parkinson’s disease diagnosis of husband Ozzy Osbourne, who she has been married to for 40 years, has been for her and their family.

‘My Heart Breaks For Him’

“I just think of my husband, who was very energetic, loved to go out for walks, did a two-hour show on stage every night, running around like a crazy man,” Sharon, 69, said in the new ITV documentary “Paxman: Putting Up With Parkinson’s.”

“When I look at my husband, my heart breaks for him,” she added, according to Daily Mail. “I’m sad for myself to see him that way, but what he goes through is worse. When I look at him and he doesn’t know I’m looking at him, I’m like crying.”

That being said, Sharon can’t deny that there has been one silver lining about Ozzy’s diagnosis.

“The family,” she explained. “We spend so much more time together.”

“The positive thing is we spend much more time together as a family and I love my husband more than I do three years ago,” she continued.

Ozzy’s Diagnosis

Ozzy, the 73 year-old frontman of the band Black Sabbath, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease back in 2003, but he didn’t go public with the diagnosis until 2020.

“It’s not a death sentence… It’s a mild form of Parkinson’s at the moment. I’m not shaking,” he told RADIO.COM at the time.

“The doctor told me that I probably walk by 10 people a day who have got it and don’t even know they’ve got it,” he continued. “You don’t get a pimple on your forehead, you just start walking a bit funny I suppose.”

Ozzy has suffered other physical ailments over the years as well. The Black Sabbath vocalist suffered a fall back in 2020 that left him requiring neck surgery.

‘It’s Been Terribly Challenging For Us All’

“It’s been terribly challenging for us all,” the musician told Good Morning America in January of 2020. “I did my last show New Year’s Eve at The Forum. Then I had a bad fall. I had to have surgery on my neck, which screwed all my nerves.”

Fox News reported that Sharon agreed with him at the time, saying, “I’m sad for myself to see him in that way, but what he goes through is worse. And sometimes when I look at him, and he doesn’t know I’m looking at him, I’m like crying.”

In June of this year, Sharon revealed that Ozzy was about to get surgery that would “determine the rest of his life,” although she did not disclose exactly what this procedure was.

“I am now home from the hospital recuperating comfortably,” he wrote on Instagram in the wake of the surgery. “I am definitely feeling the love and support from all my fans and send everyone a big thank you for their thoughts, prayers, and well wishes during my recovery.”

This has clearly been an extremely difficult couple of years for the entire Osbourne family. Please join us in saying a prayer for the health of Ozzy, as well as the wellbeing of Sharon and the rest of their family.
