RAW In A Nutshell: Extremely Eventful Season Premiere

It’s RAW in a Nutshell once again, and this time around we are hoping for an extremely eventful season premiere.

And, based off of how Friday and Saturday went, between SmackDown and Extreme Rules?

It should be an extremely eventful season premiere indeed.

Consider this. Even if we didn’t have the return of Bray Wyatt to take in (but, we do), we’d still have the season premiere giving us a D-X 25th reunion.

And, on top of that, we know Roman Reigns and The Bloodline are in Brooklyn.

We’ve had a seemingly endless parade of returns…will we see more tonight?

I mean, there are rumors, so…probably?

And if returns aren’t your thing, perhaps reveals? What will Bray Wyatt have to say on RAW?

All of that…and a lot more…should make this season premiere extremely eventful indeed.

So, lets get into…

RAW In A Nutshell: Extremely Eventful Season Premiere

Let’s get things started and find out!

Best Match of the night:

Riddle with the second main event in a few days. Also, the second main event match in a few days that didn’t actually close the show.

But, it was good and just another part of the eventual downfall of the Bloodline…probably.

That said…man oh man this show had a lot going on.

Worst match of the night:

Omos against Chico and Ace.

I am not begging for Omos against Braun, but it’s time for Omos to work real matches, or work elsewhere.

Crowd Chants of the Night:

Lots of censoring. Like, a lot.

Even the replay of Bray Wyatt’s return…lots of bleeps there too.

Star of the Night

Lots to like.

Riddle was good, even if I do think the main event was a bit…unexpected?

D-X sent the crowd home happy, and I have to say I am impressed.

Like, they were the opening couple minutes, and the last ten or so.

No interaction with a faction, no physicality. Makes sense, considering 3/4th of them run things.

Not to mention health issues.

The OC made people happy. Wyatt vignette did too.

And…new US Champ, Seth Rollins.

Spot of the Night:

For me, it was as AJ and Finn embraced, and Finn was so happy he thought he’d recruited Styles.

And then AJ says…I wasn’t talking about YOU…

Jobber of the Night:

Chico and Ace, or whatever they went by.

Upset of the Night:

Poor Rey was upset. Not upset like this usually means, but the dude was crying (acting or otherwise, who cares).

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

Well, we’d heard rumors of their return. And in Brooklyn, it indeed happened.

Gallows and Anderson are back, paired up with AJ Styles against The Judgement Day.

Not only are they back…but the happening got re-tweeted by NJPW and Jay White.

And if that wasn’t enough…BROCK LESNAR?!

source: @wwe, twitter, screenshot

Are you kidding me?!

Interesting to have him go after Lashley…while they had a score to settle, that was over the big belt, not the United States one.

The one I expected, we didn’t get. No Sasha, no Naomi.

Botch of the night:

This one…I will say the jury is out, I am sure this is giving us Lashley and Lesnar at Crown Jewel.

BUT…I didn’t initially like how Lesnar cost Lashley the belt.

Crowd seemed into it, though. And it is nice to see such a reliable hand like Rollins get gold once again.

Commentary of the night:

No lines…just some getting used to about Kevin Patrick.

I was used to Smith, Saxton and Graves…and I didn’t really see a change needed…but…here we are.

LOL Moment of the night:

The crowd reaction was so hot and so…profane…with The OC staring down and trash talking the Judgement Day that you just had to feel bad for the sensor.

Like, every other second was dropped out for a bit there.

Also…you knew this would happen…but…it was still funny.

And Dexter even ate the cake!

Noteworthy Moment:

The OC is back. And NJPW was cool with it…makes you wonder?

Brock Lesnar is also back, and we appear to be getting Lesnar and Lashley soon.

Elias is back next week.

No Bray Wyatt. Very curious move.

Overall lowlights:

The biggest bummer was the lack of Bray Wyatt live and in person.

That being said, look at how crazy this show was. A Wyatt segment would have needed ten to twenty minutes, right?

Probably.

So, cutting Omos would have been fine…but that wasn’t enough.

Overall highlights:

Seriously, this show was hitting from the beginning to the end.

Nostalgia with DX.

A semi-surprise return in Gallows and Anderson.

The major surprise of Brock Lesnar.

Somewhat surprised no Banks or Naomi…half expected they’d make the save for Bianca and Candice.

After the final bell:

Like Triple H during that final segment, the show had so much going on you just need to catch your breath.

Wyatt is advertised for SmackDown, so we shall see how many eyeballs are on FOX for Friday.

WWE-and Hunter-have been on a crazy run for the last couple months. Lets see how long they can sustain it.
