Drew Lynch, the stuttering comedian who came in second place on season 10 of America’s Got Talent back in 2015, has tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Melanie Sergiev in a mountaintop ceremony in Vermont.

Lynch Gets Married

Lynch took to Facebook to post their wedding video with the title, “I hiked the tallest mountain in Vermont to marry this woman. Stupid? Or romantic? … Yes.” Check out this video for yourself below!

Lynch has been dating Sergiev, who was born in Bulgaria, since 2019. He regularly posted about her on social media, including in the post below in which he talked about officiating a wedding that had a theme of the card game Uno. Can’t you tell from the way that Sergiev is looking at Lynch that she’s just aching for him to ask her to marry him?

Lynch’s History

Lynch stole the hearts of fans when he appeared on season 10 of America’s Got Talent, where he finished second behind winner Paul Zerdin, who is a ventriloquist. His stutter was caused by an accident that occurred when he was 23 years-old, when a softball hit him and injured his throat.

After the accident Lynch was left with a permanent stutter; particularly devastating news for him because he had always dreamed of becoming an actor. Refusing to let this disability hold him back, Lynch found a different career path in stand-up comedy; gaining recognition from the judges on America’s Got Talent and the audience with his remarkable sense of humor.

Lynch’s Service Dog

To help him navigate the world with his disability, Lynch has a service dog named Stella, who is his constant companion. The Stuttering Foundation states that service dogs can be extremely helpful for people who stutter, as they don’t care that their owner has a speech impediment. Service dogs can also help those who stutter improve their speech fluency and deal with the psychological aspects of stuttering.

Check out a cute video of Stella and Lynch below.

Preacher Lawson Attends Lynch’s Wedding

When Lynch married Sergiev, one of the attendees was Preacher Lawson, who was a finalist on season 12 of America’s Got Talent. Lawson made an adorable speech at the wedding reception, saying that Lawson “thinks we’re friends. I am a fan.”

How sweet is that?!

Like Lynch, Lawson is also a comedian, and both of them are 31 years-old, so i’s no wonder that they are such good friends. Check out Lawson on America’s Got Talent for yourself in the video below!

We can all learn a lot from Lynch’s resilience and joyful approach to life. He was dealt a bad hand when a freak accident left him with a stutter, but instead of letting this break him as many people would, Lynch refused to let it take away his dream of being a performer. We’re so happy to see that he’s found the love of his life in Sergiev, and we hope that they have many years of happiness to come!
