PFL Championships: Can Larissa Pacheco Finally Top Kayla Harrison?
It has been an incredible journey to the PFL Finals for both Larissa Pacheco and Kayla Harrison, as they meet for a third time.
Is this the year Kayla Harrison finally falls in the PFL?
The reigning and undefeated women’s lightweight champion will look to stay that way when she collides with rival Larissa Pacheco at PFL Championships later this year.
Harrison and Pacheco each worked their way to the finals with dominant showings, especially in the semifinals.
From London last month, Pacheco took care of Olena Kolesnyk in just over two minutes as Harrison watched backstage. A little while later, Harrison needed just three-plus minutes to handle Martina Jindrova and set the stage once again.
Harrison, a 32-year-old former Olympic gold medalist, downed Pacheco last December on New Year’s Eve for the gold and $1 million in New York City. Pacheco, though, pushed her the full five rounds and 25 minutes.
In 2019, they met, with the bout ending in a three-round decision win for Harrison.
Pacheco, 27 years old and a former competitor on The Ultimate Fighter, has won each of her last four fights – all by first round finish. She is 18-4 overall and would like nothing more than to be the one to hand Harrison her first “L” inside the cage.
