Happy Birthday, Tom Wopat, as the TV and Broadway star turns 71 today! The man known as Luke Duke has been a mainstay for audiences for over 40 years.
It’s hard to think of a bigger star on a TV show in the 80s than Wompat on “The Dukes of Hazzard!”
Let’s take a look back at some of Tom Wopat’s most significant career moments.
Not only is he a Duke boy, but he’s an accomplished Broadway star too!
He defended General Lee from the woke mob.
He still ain’t afraid to pose in front of the General either!
Wopat and John Schneider’s chemistry was instantaneous!
Outside of acting, Wopat is an accomplished singer and songwriter.
And he can do some real cowboy stuff!
He’s been nominated for two Tony Awards and is a regular star on Broadway and regional stages.
I think I’ve seen just about every “Dukes of Hazzard” episode. I watched it when it was on syndication and always thought Wopat brought the most to the show. I’ve never seen him perform on Broadway, but it is a life goal.
Happy Birthday, Tom!
