Once again, Canelo Alvarez showed why he is considered one of the best of all-time.
Alvarez defended his unified middleweight title over rival Gennadiy Golovkin Saturday night. The two met for a third time from Las Vegas and the T-Mobile Arena.
In the first meeting, it was declared a split draw. The second went to Alvarez back in 2018, and the third, and likely final, was once again dominated by Alvarez.
With the win, Alvarez improved to 58-2-2 in his career, with GGG dropping to 42-2-1.
“Thank you so much my friend,” Alvarez said after the bout. “Thank you for everything.”
Alvarez remains the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF super middleweight champion.
In other action on the card, Jesse Rodriguez retained his WBC junior bantamweight title with a decision win over Israel Gonzalez. Ali Akhmedov topped Gabriel Rosado and Austin Williams got past Kieron Conway.
