Sad news for fans of the country mega group Lady A (fka Lady Antebellum). The group announced that they must cancel their 2022 Request Line tour until next year. The stated reason is that lead singer Charles Kelley is entering rehab to deal with substance abuse issues.

Here’s everything we know.

Lady A Cancels 2022 Tour

Canceling the tour to focus on his sobriety is a good plan. Being sober is tough, especially when work is grueling and you’re under a lot of stress.

The band announced they would be working with Kelley to make sure his sobriety is lasting and successful.

“So, right now in order to be the healthiest, strongest and most creative band we can be, Lady A will take the time with the support of our families and team of professionals to walk through this together. It’s early on this road, but we are determined to do what will best set us up for many more years together. We’re grateful for your patience.”

I’m proud Charles prioritized his sobriety and health in the short term so he can keep touring and performing for his fans across the nation.

Kelley had recently hinted that he had quit drinking. While promoting the new single collaborating with BRELAND, “Told You I Could Drink,” the country star noted that the single’s title was  “ironic since I stopped drinking haha.”

Fans React To Lady A Delaying Tour

It is nice to see fans being understanding and outright supportive of this decision. I think too often fans are entitled and think they deserve unfettered access to celebrities and music stars no matter what.
