Ryan Fellows Dies In Car Crash During ‘Street Outlaws: Fastest in America’ Filming

Ryan Fellows, a street racer who was best known for being a cast member on the Discovery series “Street Outlaws: Fastest in America,” was killed in a car crash on Sunday while filming for the show. He was 41 years-old.

Fellows Passes Away

NBC News reported that Fellows’ death was confirmed by both Discovery and by the official Twitter account for the “Street Outlaws” franchise.

“The ‘Street Outlaws’ family is heartbroken by the accident that led to the tragic death of Ryan Fellows,” said a spokesperson for Discovery. “We extend our deepest sympathy to Ryan’s loved ones as they process this sudden and devastating loss.”

TMZ reported that Fellows was filming for the reality show when he was killed. During a race that was scheduled to be filmed on Sunday morning, he reportedly lost control of his gold Nissan 240z near the finish line, rolled over and caught on fire.

Fellows’ Family

Fellows is survived by his wife and their two children.

“Ryan was an avid car enthusiast and was a road ‘warrior’ in many ways that extended to loves of basketball, cars and business in sales/advertising,” reads a GoFundMe page that has been set up for his family. “He was admired for tenacity and a relentless drive to overcome the challenges before him.”

“The only thing he loved more than these efforts and achievements were his family — his wife Liz , children Josiah (18) and Olivia (10),” the page added. “The family will need help with the next steps of grief and living life after losing the heart and soul of their beautiful family.”

At the time of this writing, the page has raised over $18,000, and is well on its way to its’ $50,000 goal.

“Genuinely can’t think of someone I admired more in the car community,” one donor commented. “He was one of the most down to earth guys I’ve ever known.”

“I met him a couple years ago at a meet and kept in contact since,” this donor added. “Deepest condolences to his wonderful family. Very glad I had the opportunity to meet Ryan. He inspired many and always will.”

“Been a fan for a long time even though i never got to see him race in person you could tell he was one of the most admirable guys in the race scene,” added another fan.

‘Fastest In America’ Franchise

“Fastest in America” is one of four reality shows in this Discovery Channel franchise, with others being the original show “Memphis” and “No Prep Kings.” The franchise premiered back in 2013, and it gives viewers an inside look into the world of street racing.

“Fastest in America” is in its third season, and it’s a competition show that features eight teams of racers competing against one another for $100,000. Fellows competed in season three of the show, and was also a guest racer in a Season five episode of “Memphis.”

This is obviously a devastating tragedy, and as we wait for more details to come to light, we would like to say a prayer for Fellows’ family and friends during this extremely difficult time.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
