PFL Playoffs: Changes Made, New Opponent For Rory MacDonald

Issues with travel have forced a pair of changes to the semifinals of the PFL Playoffs, including a new foe for Rory MacDonald.

Visa issues have resulted in changes to the upcoming PFL Playoffs event.

Rory MacDonald will now meet Dilano Taylor in the main event as part of the welterweight semifinals. The event takes place from the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales and airs live on ESPN.

Also, Juan Adams steps in for Denis Goltsov and faces matheus Scheffel at heavyweight. The winner of that contest takes on Ante Delija or Renan Ferreira in the finals.

The MacDonald-Taylor winner will meet either Sadibou Sy or Carlos Leal in the welterweight final.

“It is very unfortunate for these two fighters who fought and earned their spots in the Playoffs,” said PFL President of Fighter Operations Ray Sefo. “Both Umalatov and Goltsov were impressive in their Regular Season fights and were contenders to win the Championship. Despite that, we are pleased we have such a deep roster to go to and are excited to see what Dilano Taylor and Juan Adams can do with this great opportunity.”
