‘I Am Going To Assassinate Elizabeth’

The New York Post reported that prosecutors told London’s Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday that 20 year-old Jaswant Singh Chail filmed a video just before he busted into Windsor Castle bragging about his plans to “assassinate” the Queen, 96.

“I am sorry for what I have done and what I will do. I am going to attempt to assassinate Elizabeth, queen of the royal family,” he said in the chilling video, which showed him wearing a creepy face-covering and holding a crossbow.

“This is revenge for those who died in the 1919 massacre,” he added, referring to an incident from one hundred years ago in which British troops fatally shot nearly 400 Sikhs in their holy city of Amritsar in northwestern India.

“It is also revenge for those who have been killed, humiliated and discriminated on because of their race,” Chail continued. Check out the chilling video for yourself below.

‘I Am Here To Kill The Queen’

On Christmas Day, Chail was able to get to an area where he would be able to access the private quarters of Windsor Castle, where the Queen was celebrating the holiday with her eldest son and heir to the throne, Prince Charles. Thankfully, a royal protection officer spotted Chail at around 8:10 am, thwarting his plans to kill the longest-reigning monarch in British history.

“I am here to kill the Queen,” Chail allegedly told the officer, who drew a taser and ordered the intruder to drop to his knees. The officer would later say that Chail looked like something out of a vigilante film or dressed for Halloween, and the “Supersonic X-bow” he was holding was capable of killing someone. When police searched Chail’s home in Southhampton, they found a gas mask and rope.

It was later revealed from a search of Chail’s electronic devices that he had applied to the UK’s Ministry of Defence and the Grenadier Guards in the hopes of making contact with the royal family. He has since been charged under the Treason Act with intending to “injure the person of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, or to alarm her Majesty.” On top of that, Chail has been charged with threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon.

Chail’s Hearing

Chail appeared remotely during Wednesday’s hearing, and he was not asked to enter a plea. A judge ordered that he be detained at least until his next court appearance, which is scheduled to take place on September 14.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Mr. Chail are active and that he has the right to a fair trial,” Nick Price, Head of the CPS Special Crime and Counter Terrorism Division, said of Chail earlier this month, according to Newsweek

This comes after the Queen celebrated her record-breaking seventy years on the British throne earlier this summer with her Platinum Jubilee. She is a truly incredible woman who continues to inspire billions of people from all over the world, so it’s truly horrifying to think of anything violent happening to her.

In the end, we hope that Chail is brought to justice for what he did, and may God save the Queen.
