Amanda Nunes

A second pay-per-view closes out the month for the UFC with UFC 277 Saturday night.

In the main event from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Julianna Pena defends her title against Amanda Nunes.

Pena’s bantamweight title will be on the line in a rematch with Nunes, who is also the reigning featherweight titleholder. The two recently served as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter.

Along with Pena vs. Nunes, Brandon Moreno and Kai Kara-France meet for the interim flyweight title. Derrick Lewis vs. Sergei Pavlovich, Alexandre Pantoja vs. Alex Perez and Anthony Smith vs. Magomed Ankalaev round out the main card.

On the prelims, Alex Morono meets Matthew Semelsberger among other fights.

For Nunes, this will be an interesting fight. The 34-year-old ran off an incredible run, defending both titles. Now, though, she must prove herself against Pena.

The two collided back in 2021 at UFC 269, with Pena locking up a rear-naked choke and earning the submission win. That marked the first loss for Nunes since 2014 when she was stopped by Cat Zingano.

During her win streak, Nunes earned wins over Valentina Shevchenko, Ronda Rousey, Shevchenko again, Cris Cyborg and Megan Anderson.

Back in December, Pena was the ultimate underdog. Now, she enters with the title wrapped around her waist. She bested Zingano back in 2016 but has missed time with an injury.
