RAW In A Nutshell: We Are Banking On SummerSlam Now!

It’s time for our latest RAW In A Nutshell, and after Saturday…we are banking on SummerSlam now!

As in, well, you know…Money In The Bank happened on Saturday…and now…SummerSlam is a few weeks away.

OK, now that I had to explain my latest corny headline….

It’s also the Fourth Of July in America, so if you are here like I am, it means by now you are recovering from a cook-out and taking in RAW while lighting off some fireworks.

Maybe.

But, we should have some fireworks in the ring too. After all, Money In The Bank did give us some interesting results.

We have a new United States Champion in Bobby Lashley. There is a new SmackDown Women’s Champion, as Liv Morgan won and cashed in.

And, you probably heard…there is now the youngest Mr. Money In The Bank ever, a Superstar who wasn’t even supposed to be in the match. Theory…

So, lots to unpack, it’s a holiday RAW too, and we are banking on SummerSlam now.

We can expect a lot of hype for all the fun heading toward Nashville, and it’s just a few weeks away.

So, let’s buckle up and get into…

RAW In A Nutshell: We Are Banking On SummerSlam Now!

Let’s crack this open and see how things go!

Best Match of the night:

Not many choices.

For me, I will take Liv Morgan and Bianca Belair over Natalya and Carmella.

Becky and Asuka was a close second.

Worst match of the night:

Truth and Gunther.

Star of the Night

No real star performances, per se.

But, as a carry over from Saturday, I tip my cap to new SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan.

Spot of the Night:

Riddle with a weird but epic RKO out of nowhere.

Weird, because…dude had a bathing suit on.

Or, the manhandle slam through the table.

But what did it for me was the bit right after.

Maybe it wasn’t what I think, but it sure looked like they had a bit of a gesture where they each acknowledged they were OK after a big bump and a brutal match.

Like, just before Lynch popped up to celebrate the win.

Jobber of the Night:

Uncle Sam. Otherwise known as R-Truth.

Totally squashed by Gunther.

Upset of the Night:

Well…anyone who saw it was upset with Otis.

Rollins was upset at Zeke…

Holy Sh** Moment of the Night:

Did we really need to see Otis blow chunks?

No, no we did not.

So…why bother showing it live, and then via replay, multiple times?

Just nasty.

Botch of the night:

Well, it’s a holiday, so maybe some folks aren’t paying too much attention…but the crew in the truck gets our botch tonight.

Flashed a graphic for a match (I believe it was Ezekiel versus Rollins) after that match was already in the books. Oops.

If you really want a move…Truth didn’t take that Gunther power bomb too well.

Commentary of the night:

Points for Graves, as he noted “they didn’t unite, they aren’t Voltron, they just teamed up”.

LOL Moment of the night:

I leave this here:

Noteworthy Moment:

Remember all that chatter about Theory against John Cena?

Yea…maybe not.

Theory instead has a United States Championship rematch.

Which frees up Cena for a few other options, if he can even work the show.

For one, Cena against Rollins wouldn’t be bad.

Or, we could see Cena and Gunther, as there was at least one hint to that, and Gunther did just take out Cena’s BFF.

Also looks like Logan Paul will be working SummerSlam, teaming with AJ Styles, if I was a betting man.

Overall lowlights:

Easily Otis chucking.

Otherwise…not the best RAW, not the worst.

I’d say it was better, much better, than the pre-recorded episodes we get near holidays, especially since it came immediately after MITB.

Of course, I would also say that the Superstars and crew do deserve to spend the holidays with family too…so…I am torn.

Overall highlights:

Interesting to see them run back Theory and Bobby Lashley.

Lashley and the Street Profits looked good.

Highlight, for me and many, was Liv and Bianca teaming together.

After the final bell:

Well, we are banking on SummerSlam now, and we saw things set in motion all over the show.

A few matches are confirmed, now including Theory and Lashley one more time in a bit of a surprise.

Looks like we can figure out what Logan Paul will do next…AJ Styles needs a partner…hmm…

With Reigns back on Friday, things should really pick up soon enough.
