A video shared to social media by Twitter user imcoreaz sees the fan dancing as he takes in the game. However, things appear to quickly take a turn for the worse as he’s next seen with his shirt removed and looking up behind him and pointing at other people in the audience.

At one point he takes his hand and makes a “cut him off” or “stop talking” hand gesture and then tosses his hat into the aisle behind him.

The video then cuts to him getting beat down by a man who was previously sitting next to him. It shows a man in a Carmelo Anthony jersey throw a deadly right fist into the Lakers fan’s temple that sends him crumpling to the floor. As he’s staggered on the ground, he proceeds to hammer him with blows before a couple of individuals intervene and break up the fight.

A separate angle from across the arena shows the man in the Carmelo Anthony jersey raining fists on the Lakers fan after he rocked him with the deadly right.

Another angle shows the aftermath of the fight with the man clearly staggered and unable to stand up by himself as he leans on the folded arena seating. A security guard casually strolls over to the scene.

The man laying down the punches also appears to be putting the blame on the Lakers fan making hand gestures indicating he didn’t start, he was only finishing it.

It’s unclear what happened, but it definitely appears the man in the Carmelo Anthony jersey might have the same frame of mind as Mike Tyson who infamously stated, “Social media made you all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it.”

Regardless of what happened to provoke this beat down, it should have and could have been avoided.

And lest we forget we are called to love our enemies by Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Matthew 5:43-48 states, You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.”

“For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
